Ecoboost only---real world mileage.

People, I only respond when:
1) People happening to get decent mileage imply that those of us with crappy mileage are morons that don't know how to drive.
2) New people post that can't believe people are getting 20+ when they can't get 16 no matter what they do just to let them know they aren't alone.
3) People post that they never have gotten or used to get decent mpgs frustrated over Ford's lack of ownership of the problem.
4) People think this problem is somehow rare like this most recent post implies.
Beyond this forum, I only know two other people personally that have EB trucks. BOTH of them either never have or used to and now don't get decent mpg. Now that's a small sample but you'd think one of us would be doing well if it's only a 20% problem.
No one is forcing anyone to read my posts that are targeted at a particular new post. I am personally amazed at the inconsequential crap that pi$$es some people off.

Soooo what you're saying issss.......Your truck used to get the same good mileage as some of these other guys but then one day "it broke". Now you feel that no matter how much you are going to hate doing it you may have to lemon law it. But you surely hope you don't have to. Just hoping that some day, some how, someone can find a fix for it so you aren't "forced" to lemon law your truck.
Is this correct? Just trying to get this straight. Every other time you've posted pretty much the same thing on here (usually after someone new comes in and says they are happy with their mileage) I haven't quite gotten it....But I think I got it now.

I've seen you respond several times when someone new comes on and simply states they are very happy with their mileage. Even if they say nothing more than they are happy and getting 20 mpg here you come not far behind to be Debbie downer. Its borderline trollish.

I just went on an 1800 mile trip with my 2012 FX. Two thirds of the trip was on I 80 at speeds between 75 and 80, the rest on US hwy at 70, along with a bit of city driving. I got 17.8 mpg for the trip and certainly cannot feel disappointed; air conditioning on, headwinds, and high ambient temperatures.

Hmm... You may be on to something here. Maybe it is location. He is in Kansas and I am in Oklahoma about 20 miles south of the KS border. However I KNOW I am getting decent Gas, as I live in Bartlesville.

Just got back from camping trip pulling about 9K fifth wheel. Going up the 230 miles averaged 9.1, coming back 8.9. I can't really complain it seems uphill both ways, and coming back had a head wind. I would tow at 65 mph, but could pass with no problems because of the power. One Tundra was pulling lighter than me and was going 75. We hit a hill so I gave some gas and passed while accelerating, while he fell off the pass. Brother in his cummins coming the opposite direction got 9.6 mpg and my brother with a tundra got 6.6 mpg. So all in all am happy. Around town I get about 18.2 average

During the week I mostly drive around town, and have been getting 14.5-16 mpg. A couple of times I have gone reasonably slow(55-65) on the highway and gotten 18-20 on the insta-readout.
This weekend I went on about a 650 mile road trip, with some in town driving in the middle. I averaged about 16.5 mpg. The calculator said it's a bit better, because the truck seems to think it burns about an extra gallon per tank based on the difference between what it says I used and how much I can refill.
That 16.5 mpg is with the massive brush guard on the front(which I can feel in high winds, so it's creating some drag), 75-80 average, windows closed, AC on. I'm a little disappointed it isn't higher, but given how i drive it I reckon I can't complain too much.
It's a pleasure to cruise on the highway, especially given how bad the roads in MA and NY are. I also note that the further away from Boston you get, the more the Prius-driving self-satisfied looks of disgust turn into fellow truck driver looks of envy and appreciation.
FWIW, when people give me crap about my truck, I just tell them that my Harley gets 38 mpg, so the fleet average is 27.5.
