Stronger and much quieter and refined sounding.....I wonder sometimes what color the turbo bearings and exhaust turbine are when I am climbing a hill into a headwind in 3rd gear.....but still, MUCH quieter than the 5.4 was, and easier to stay in the selected gear.

This part of your statement is false.

We really have no way of knowing. A while back when I was recovering from surgery there were about 20% [a little more than that I think] that were negative.

But there are also some getting 15.7mpg average that are OK with that since it was better than some previous gas guzzler. My trip B that's never been reset is 14.9 now but was over 19 for three months after I got it before the bottom fell out so I am not happy with it.

So, it's impossible to know.

What I find frustrating is why this is not troubleshootable. They haven't even bothered. And I'm pretty sure the rough idle is related. In both cases though, Ford just says . . . it's normal or within a normal range. They just do NOT get that my truck has LOST 5 mpg. There IS a reason for that. They cannot monitor A/F ratios, spark advance, valve timing, different sensors, sniff the exhaust, nothing?

But, no code = no problem.

So my dealer just said "combined with the other 5 problems" I might as well just start Lemon Law proceedings because Ford is no longer even returning their calls on the matter and they just closed out my customer case number without any problem resolution.

Pretty sad . . . the wife and I were considering the new Escape or perhaps the Edge or even Explorer with an EB to replace our aged Volvo. Not any more . . . Well the new Escape EB is supposed to get 30mpg but if you only get 20, that's normal.

Canon mutant, I am pretty sure on this sight you and maybe a handful of other users have experienced the problem of good mpg then a nose dive(that has continued after the return of summer blend fuel). It just seems like more as you and the few others pop into every thread about mileage and repeat the story.

I feel for you, but do not mistake your issue as the norm for the majority of Ecoboost owners.

Sorry Canon but it is about time someone pipes up about your constant repetition of your issues..They are not miraculously going to be "fixed" the more you mention them.. Ok rant over!!
