Just looking for a current response from Ecoboost owners only regarding catch can useage. Please vote for one option only. Also, please post year of truck, how many miles using the catch can, increase/decrease in mpg since install, any issues you may have had since install (increase/decrease in oil level, fluid in CAC, engine studder or going into limp mode), comments from dealer if serviced by Ford, and any other input you feel is useful. Since I have not installed mine yet, I did not vote. Thanks in advance for your participation and honest feedback.

Considering the RX dual valve can as some preventive assistance to potential issues due to gunk down the road. Of course, after I get my electrical gremlins sorted out.

Currently running a homemade catch can. Truck seems to run smoother but it never ran bad before the can install either. Mileage increase of about 1 mpg. Just have the can on the passenger side. I capped off the drivers side turbo inlet and put a breather filter on the drivers side valve cover for the fresh air source. Thinking about changing it up some to evacuate during boost too but so far ive had no problems with my current setup and I installed it about 8k miles ago.

F150 is just shy of 50k and no muss, no fuss. MPG is rock steady as well.

2011, no issues yet in over 3 years. After seeing pics of the crap other people were getting out of their intercoolers I removed my intercooler for cleaning and it was completely bone dry so it didn't even need cleaning. I haven't had any reason to add a catch can.

2012 with 37K miles and no can. No issues so far. But gonna remove the IC and look for residue.

2012 with 27K total miles. Around 4K miles since installing the can, oil level came down to normal within 200 miles of install. No change in mpg that I can tell.

I'll only point out that Diesel OP's having doing something like this for years. It will not harm only benefit you for many 100,000's of miles if you wish it. U will have to replace the pipes drilled if you wish to go back to OEM build as they are no longer under warranty. If you wish you can remove them and install bulk head fittings for a neater look but that is for the "Pro" guy probably. I'm thinking about $20 for them at your hydraulic store.


Understanding the Man has spent many hours over this design and refining its effectiveness till it is virtually unmatched in quality. Every direct injection
engine needs this. I have no reason to state all of this. I simply have millions of running hours of experience with the end results of worn out motors behind me. I put this here so someone interested can find out how easy it is to do. Do you have to have it if you trade every 70,000 miles, probably not unless you experience the problems. Is it a very nice investment? Yes it is. Do it before lifting, painting, installing big wheels and rims raising it up. Certainly if you want to.
This particular Product is all over the Forums and the OP's like it. And no one really cares if you don't put it on there?


I feel that as time goes by people looking for a Used EB will be also looking for the RX Can installed there. Not there, no sale.
