Default EcoBoost oil change

Did my first oil change on the EcoBoost yesterday. This thing needs a remote filter, lol.

I am going to do my 5.0 This weekend. Should have about 1200 or so miles on it.

How bad/easy was it? And, how much of the under engine shielding did you have to remove? Did your truck already have the new bigger oil filter from the factory (FL2055)? Need to know-I am going to do mine at 1000 miles or so.

It wasn't bad at all.
I did take off the front shield out of curiosity to look around but you don't have to remove it.
No, it didn't have the new filter. It had a sticker saying to replace with the new filter, lol.
I did mine at 1,000. I don't like the idea of prolonging the first oil change.

I really am looking at putting a remote filter on at the next change though. You can "see" the filter, but its not easy to get your hand on to remove it.

Where do you find the fl2055 filter? I do not want to pay dealer prices. I want to change my own oil. I use Mobil 1. I looked on the internet for the fl2055 and did not come up with anything but the ford dealers. Anyone have a source? I have not asked AutoZone Advance, Oreilly etc yet because I am not ready to change yet (only have 500 miles on truck) but did not see it on the shelves.

I think the retail price at the dealer is about $20.00

At how many miles do you all think the first change needs to be done? I have 1300 on mine and havent done it yet. Probably going to put Mobile 1 in there or should I wait on the pure synthetic?

If it doesn't look to bad take it to 2,000 Mi. and put in M1. It meets the Ford specs.
