Default Ecoboost and oil

What full sythentic oil would experienced users recommend to use in my 2011 Ecoboost besides the semi-synthetic Ford Motorcrap stuff? Not looking for opinion's on Motorcraft, just looking for better alternatives.

Mobil 1 is fine, along with any of the other off the shelf name brand synthetics. I'm sure some of the Amsoil guys will probably chime in soon as well, but it is really hard to justify what they charge for it unless you are going to stick to a 10,000 mile oil change schedule.

Personally, I've always considered the Motorcraft Synthetic Blend to be a pretty good value, it is made by Kendall. I think this is what it is under the Kendall name:

I also plan on changing mine every 5K. Initially, I changed mine at 2500 and now going to hit 5K then every 5K moving forward. I'll look into the Mobil 1 or Amsoil. I use Mobil 1 0w40 on my VW Passat.

There is no reason to run Amsoil unless you are going to purchase their high end product and keep it in there for 10K with good filtration. Not all of the oils they sell are true synthetics anymore....most are not. The ones that are have a $9-12 qt price. The rest of them are blends like everyone else's. Mobil 1 is not a true synthetic either for that matter regardless of what the label says....

For 5k drains can you define what you mean by better? Asking because for me "better" usually means longer drains. For me I use MC, PU and GT-1 (fullsyn)
Anything more would be a waste of money for 5k drains. (amsoil, redline, motul etc)

I sent my oil from the first change to Blackstone Labs and had it analyzed. I changed it at that time to Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w-30 w/ a motorcraft filter. I will send it in around 5-6k miles and have it analyzed. It will tell me how much life is still left in the oil through lab data and also tell me how much wear additive remains, thus changing too early and throwing away money.

They were fantastic for the first report and she even called and answered every single question I had enclosed in the package. IN a very brief recap she said I will have good service from the engine, and the oil monitor will get more accurate with time. She felt that getting 8-10,000 miles between changes would be a serious reality. Suggested changing what I just put in a few weeks ago around 5-6000 miles and sending it in and then going from there with the lab analysis to really know how much life is left.

I did my first oil change at 6500 miles and used Penzoil Platinum. I am now going by the oil life meter for oil changes and I now have 14400 miles on the truck with a 21% oil life left so looks like I am heading for 10,000 mile oil change interval.
