Default ecoBOOST!!! Not ECOboost!

Alluded to many times in different places, but I hope the title of this thread makes it easier to understand.

The 3.5L engine is designed with the emphasis on power - not fuel economy. Though, how truck owners can complain about a gas-fueled truck with the epa ratings these have is truly beyond me. I do not miss my 94 that got 9mpg going 65 with a 20mph tailwind....

X2, The new engine family is great all the way around. Personal need/preferences/test driving to discover the one for you/me is good at buying time. I found the 3.7L with the 3.73 tow haul/302 HP/4X2 about what I needed the best. I had 4X4 V8's in the past. This one is 1/4 better truck. I have added a few things to it to make it fill the bill for me with my needs also, those things the EB can't do at this time. I'm sure aftermarket MOD's will add electric fan to the intercooler at some time.

People get all upset because you lose 10 mpg when you tow heavy. Funny thing is that mine gets 12 mpg when I tow heavy, which is the same that my Dakota R/T and 5.4SC Harley truck got when not towing at all!

I averaged 14mpg in my old 03 tundra driving highway at 65-70...i'm seeing 17-18mpg driving in stop and go traffic with no highway...and this truck is much faster.

i traveled a total of 400 miles this week in my truck both highway and stop and go lights for a stretch of about 10 miles where literally when one light would turn green the next would turn red, and ive had an average speed of 55mph on the highway, all for a grand spankin total of 20.6mpg...and thats with the 5.0.....imagine what id get with the 3.5
