People are asking what it takes to get to that HP level, the answer is: That means the only thing that will be stock is the block and maybe the core of the heads. When money is no object... It will be exciting to see how this goes and I bet it will actually sound good with different cams.
*Cough* If someone is serious about 800HP truck, everything is already available for the 5.0 to do that and then some. You can buy built 5.0 blocks for up to 2,000RWHP, yes 2,000HP. Just saying http://www.modularmustangracing.com/ *end cough*

And turbo engines blow!
Also, I was coughing. You'll be coughing soon too because you're smoking something good if you think you can hit 2,000RWHP N/A with either engine.

In order for them to compete In the class they will be racing in they had to take it to the next level and spend the big bucks.
BUT THE MOTOR THAT HIT 780hp was stock from the intake to the oil pan. Just new turbo kit and 2 fuel pumps.
We all know if money were no object the motor with the bigger displacement will win. We're not saying that it won't
In the end this thread had NOTHING to do at all with the 5.0 motor until the 5.0 fan boys had to come in ruin it. It was about the Eco and roush Yates
Why did you bring up the 5.0 again what did it have to do with the Eco in regards to this thread ? Not a single person mentioned it until you came and had to make it yet another Eco vs 5.0 deal.
Does it upset you that the Eco is gaining ground and becoming successful in many ways? It must cause you would not of posted otherwise.
If anything you should be happy for your brother so he will have more aftermarket to play with

I am curious what the benefit of the EB is in this particular case where the cost difference to make the power they need is probably minimal. We know both motors are capable of being built to make the power they need. Maybe the EB will provide better fuel consumption numbers at the same power in this application? Lighter weight maybe?
Anyway, I for one will be interested to see how this project turns out. I like to see Ford winning races, I really dont care which of their engines powers the vehicle.

Not agreeing with the post about the 5.0 in any way but I do want to point out that the 5.0 is in fact mentioned in the very first post of the thread since that is what is being replaced by the EB in this race series.

ah crap. These threads make me sad that my truck is for sale :-( On the other hand, I'm planning on building a CJ-8 Scrambler and a quick search on car-part.com tells me that an ecoboost Scrambler might be a legit possibility!!!
