I came from a modded diesel with bigger turbo so the EB lag was pretty much non existent. The only time I feel lag is if I shift from reverse to drive a punch it. If you roll the throttle there's no lag. I got used to driving like that with my dodge. Once better tuning is available the lag should be easily tuned out.

I now almost 10K on mine and all I can say is what lag. In normal driving it seems to react prett darned guick and if you realy need instant power just give it a little part throttle brake torque and you will overcome any traction and burn rubber until you back off. this engine in total stock form is the sleeper of the year. Mike @ 5startuning is in the process as we speak. Have his tunes on my other vehicles and was great and his customer support is top notch.

My EB is very responsive! The most impressive thing to me is making a 60 to 80 mph pass on the highway. It jumps up in a hurry!

That is great news, I did find there webpage and was brousing on the Ford Raptor go to this link and click on the "Drive By Wire" at the bottom, very interesting.

Hope they can have a fix like that for the Ecoboost.

Is this normal? Have you guys experience this on yours?
I have a 5.7 Tundra and are moving to the Eco, now I know the Eco is faster but the lag is killing me, have anyone done anything to improve the lag…
I lived 8 years with a turbocharged Subaru. If my EB has a turbo lag, it is imperceptible.

As someone who has built more 1000hp Supras than I can count, you either got a truck with something wrong with it or didn't have enough miles on it to have adapted to normal driving and learning that it does. Then again it could be just the drive by wire delay too.

There is about as much lag in these turbos as there is in a stock MKIV (93.5-98 model year) Supra. And the stock twins on that car are sequential which of course will spool up one first before building boost in the larger one in order to prevent as much lag as possible. The downside to that of course is full boost and power coming on later on.

The four EB trucks I have driven, including my own, did not have any lag at all. There is an ocassional time when it will take a second or so to build any power, but you don't feel the motor working and the turbos not. The drive by wire simply hasn't caught up yet, so it's not actually turbo lag. As already mentioned, there are some tuning options that are in the works that will probably help this.

You might try driving a few different trucks at a few different dealers to see if they might all have the same issue you seem to be experiencing.

You may be correct on the fly by wire delay as I post it previously, this is a problem and it looks like the Ford Raptor has it as well.
Go to this link and click on the "Drive By Wire" at the bottom, very interesting.
