Ohhh, I do NOT own that truck anymore (and I WILL swap all my vehicles from Fords to anything else. We were looking at few more ecoboost interceptors---and when I got asked as one of the three with that car recommended three new chargers and one new Ram truck on patrol, lol.

When the lady was that rude after 10days and no truck...and the truck came back on day 11 to go right back, it was traded in on day 13.

I think THIS WILL BE the BEST engine in a 1/2 ton ----IF Ford revamps itself.

I think that's part of the problem. Ford needs to increase the warranty payouts and let the dealers spend some time troubleshooting rather than "find a TSB and hope". Put more emphasis on getting it fixed the first time and tie pay to that. If you did I think a lot of these repeat issues would magically disappear. Customers would be satisfied as it was fixed the 1st time. Costs would go down as you're not paying for multiple attempts to fix a problem.

Things we know.

1. Excessive rich mixture burns out the Cat on one bank.
2. Ford agrees to have repaired the H2O condensation issue with blocked off CAC.
3. Fed agrees to not have Ford do a recall of the EB because it is fixed.
4. OP's complain about it.
5. Time and word of mouth will out it.

Anyone have any other ideas ?

I agree 100%. But it is still one of the best motors in a truck that I have ever had. I will be picking her up tomorrow morning. Hopefully for the better.

I will be trading it in with in the next couple of weeks. Thinking of ditching the F150 for an Explorer for the Mrs. then trade our Fusion in on a 15 F150.

Yes. I am one of those brand loyal looney toons but I don't know of any car manufacturer that doesn't have issues with a small percentage of their vehicles. My issue is I just don't have faith in this truck, I can handle the miss under heavy acceleration (You just drive to expect it lol Defensive Driving I guess...) what I cant deal with is it stalling completely out going 55-70 on a highway.

But I absolutely love FoMoCo and could not be more happy with the way they have treated me in this process. I have had one great dealership I do have to say though the one issue that I have had was with the purchasing dealership who has been little to no support, and it was to the point where a wonderful lady from Ford corporate called the dealership GM and informed them of the service that needed to be done. Needless to say I will not be returning to that dealership.

Since that incident I have been dealing with Kings Ford in Cincinnati and want to give a shout out to their service department (I have no idea about their sales department tho...)

I do wish that Ford had a more uniformed way of dealing with these issues, as the 3 dealers I have worked with ( in 3 states lol) have all had vastly different approaches in handling my issues. I don't think there will ever be full blown recall on these motors because 1,000 issues out of 400k trucks that is an incredible 0.25% defect rate. That is incredible!!

Lets not forget BMWs early jump into turboing most of their own cars. How many 5 series did they end up buying back right lol?

OEM's try to fix a problem with the tune ( programming ) when it is an engineering or parts snafu.

Well my 5.0 is running great today. Just like every day...

Haha, jk guys.

Ford has a terrible track record of trying new things and then not taking appropriate action when there are issues. And I even know it's to be expected, the EB was a very good and new idea for trucks in 2011 and, in the long run, may be as reliable as any other engine. But it's like Ford wants to steal the show but is never prepared for the day after. Hopefully, the 2.7EB has been sorted and the 3.5EB is next. And maybe, they'll apply the Eco treatment to some other engines too.

ALL auto makers (except hand made super cars, etc.) are the same. Ford is not different. I come from a GM background and they are the same. 3.5EB is an awesome engine in every way and this flaw I can't blame on the engineers, this was management/accounting/etc. that made this decision (whether to not delay release, or other reasons) IMHO.

Ford and the rest of the engineers are among the best in the world.....but 99.9% have no idea the frustrations and politics that go on behind the scenes. At least there is an aftermarket soultion, but even with it, it is critical to drain/clean the CAC to remove what is already there to prevent hydro lock and engine failure if that occurs.

Ford still makes the best trucks on the market period IMHO (unless a new company gives us a Cummins engine, Allison trans, and Ford chassis!!).

Address the EB flaw right away and NO reason these wont go hundreds of thousands of miles.

Did you get the 6.2 litre engine? What model did you get and how are you liking it? Good looking pickup.
