If your gonna hype your truck as the new age of truck and Eco your boost all over the media and do torture tests to say the V6 is up to the task then you better darn make sure its does what is advertised., The only guys spouting there mouth and backing Ford are the ones with no issues with there trucks. The issues that many are faced with is a widespread problem of shuddering, idling, water build up or loss of power and who knows what else thats out there. Every manuf. has recalls for one thing or another but to have serious engine failure is another. Only time will tell if Ford corrects the issues for the owners of these trucks but to me to downplay 1,000 to 2,000 or who knows how many thousand trucks are defective is no big deal need to get a grip. I never hear Toyota motors having so many engines fail.

Ford just had another recall on the 1.6 and 2.0 Ecoboost engines in there car models. Nothing like engines catching on fire, or a recall for the 2011-2012 F150 recall for the truck to slip out of park w/o applying the brake and seeing your truck roll away. Its not the problem its the fix. Years ago Ford had the issue in there F150 with the cruise control switch igniiting and causing the trucks to catch on fire. It took forever for them to do a recall. My 2002 F250 had the same switch and my dealer said OH! your not to worry its not on recall list. I said replace it,,period. I paid the cost and then about a year later I got a recall letter from Ford to replace my switch. Ford ended up refunding me the $50 i spent but it was the whole issue of the ostrich effect. FORD dont stick your head in the sand and hope the problem goes away. Step up and admit the issue and Fix the problem. Show the customers your care. Especially there No.1 seller. You **** off or mess with your F150 crowd and watch your stock fall. JHMO!!
Dude, I want to see you make this miracle motor that you keep speaking of. There isn't a motor in the history of motors that haven't had their problems.
Ford hasn't been "sweeping these problems under the rug" either. There is public TSBs on all the issues so far and seems to have been fixing the major problems (Shudder) with the EB, bad Cat Converters. From what I've read on this site over the past 3 years I can tell you that this site is mostly guys looking for an answer to their problems. There is also people just looking to show of their purdy, shiny new truck. Nothing wrong with that either. I all just depends on where your looking on this forum. To go on kind of a tangent, look how strict NASA is when they build their rockets and stuff. Even THEY blow up every once in a while lol. I'd hesitate to say the ratio of rockets to bombs NASA has made is far worse than EBs that end up catastrophically fails. :P

I think if your that paranoid about what you buy you should either walk to work or buy a bicycle. I just hope you don't pull a muscle on the way to work, then you might yell at "God" to issue a recall.

OP I hope your new motor takes you for years with out problems. I also hope the dealer will give you some peace of mind with maybe a free extended warranty for your troubles.

Nah, I just silently read the entire thread and disagreed with what you said so I tried to have some fun with it. In the end it's just a forum and everything needs to be taken lightly. It's not gonna wreck my day if anyone on here disagrees with what I have to say. It's their right to believe what they want.
You gotta admit I'm right tho. With the EB and 5.0 Ford has come clean about all the issues so far.

Sounds good. Thats what forums are about, each person giving there opinion. Neither of us work at Ford and sit in the board room so we can speculate about what Ford's thinking is. One thing we can both agree on is We like our FORD trucks!!

I like my Ford also but there are people saying the eb has forged rods, but most info points towards fords pmr rods. Anybody know the truth? Big difference between pmr's and forged rods.

Thanks, I've had two bad experiences with Ford pmr's, latest was 6.7 tossing a rod through the block bone stock at 12k. Ford does some wacky stuff, tiny pmr's in latest greatest diesel, and(thankfully) forged in my eco. It would be nice to find out what failed on the few ecos that have blown, they all seem similar.
