The ignorance in this thread is almost dumbfounding!!
Ya'all need to do some more research on ethanol and understand all of its positive effects not only on the environment but also on performance of an engine.
Here, to make it easier, here is an article to steer you away from ignorance and get you started on the road toward being properly educated... http://horsepowercalculators.net/e85...e85-calculator
Cheers!

Oh, I just love E10 !!!

I love how I have the privilege of rebuilding the carbs on my weed whackers, chain saw, trimmers, mowers and chain saws every year ! Gets me out of the house !

Unfortunately I have started using stabil ethanol Treatment in my 4-stroke equipment, and quart cans of pure gas in a can from sears (wth, it's only $6 a quart) in my 2-stroke equipment, so I may not get this wonderful privilege next year.

And what the heck, food is over rated. We don't have any sort of starvation issues to deal with. May as well burn it up !

After all, if we didn't we tax payers would not get to pay all those subsidies and we would drown in our own money !

Oh, and heaven forbid we do it right like, I dunno, Brazil ?

Ethanol my ***...

The ethanol subsidy was given to the ethanol industry, not the farmers. Furthermore that subisidy expired back in January, it's no more.

Check out pure-gas.org . I was in Abilene this weekend and found no ethanol fuel for the ride home by checking their website. I can't swear to all of the listings being accurate, but it was 1 for 1 for me

Ethanol my ***...
LMAO....if your rebuilding your lawn mowers and weed wackers once a year, maybe you need to focus more on your mechanical abilities instead of blaming it on gas. My yard vehicles run outstanding!!
As for a food shortage...LMAO, your a trip! Where do you live, some third world country?! Let me explain to you how the economy works. There is a demand for something and when that demand increases with advent of other uses and/or new technology, production has to increase also. What this does is creates more jobs because production has to increase to match demand. So how is the demand for more corn NOT helping to create jobs and help to keep the farming industry alive?!
Let's also touch on another subject. With everything else going on in America today such as a president for a liar, a president who technically is not even a U.S. citizen, our military fighting and being attacked daily and dieing in mass numbers in a country that we should no longer be in because; how many times have we been told the war is over now?!...also, the number of unemployed Americans increasing everyday, jobs being lost to foreigners who come to our country to live off of welfare and steal jobs from the American because the foreigner will work for cheap salary....man, I could go on and on all day....yet you choose to attack ethanol based on a food shortage?? and also argue about how ethanol is ruining your yard vehicles...LMAO.
If you paid more attention to what is really going on in your country, you would plainly see that your "food shortage" can be directly attributed to over population which in turn is a direct cause of opening our boarders for others to come to our country and live off of our tax dollars via welfare and unemployment.
Come on man, you cannot possibly be this ignorant....please tell me you are joking.
Tell you what, why don't you go back to fighting the good fight about how ethanol is the devil and me and my family will go back to helping to defend this country so that people like you can continue to pollute it with ignorance and self preservation!!!
I am done with this forum....I liked it a lot better when I just trolled and laughed at the retarded posts that people make and others agree with.
Trash me, flame me, say what ever you want....fact is, you can't argue with ignorance!
Peace....I'm out!

So by burning 48% more fuel we can make 11% more power. Wow, I'm glad Im now fully educated on ethanol. I didn't know the numbers were THAT bad. Other than a race engine trying to get every last pony at all costs, who the heck would run this crap? And that's not to mention the use of massive amounts of natural gas, corn, and water to make it. Talk to some people who work inside an ethanol plant and you can see there are not any real environmental benefits to this process.

I agree with you and you are right about the overpopulation problem. The one benefit of ethanol plants is the work that they provided to the workers who built them and work in them. I just don't like people touting ethanol as being "pro-environment" and using that as the reason we are making it.

Unit per unit it does not contain as much energy as gasoline. Therefore I see it as less efficient.

And don't even get me started about illegals living of our tax dollars. I know I will get flamed for this but I think we could raise some tax dollars and lower illegal immigration by selling "tags" for the border. For $1000 a piece you could buy a tag that would allow you to sit back 500 yards from the border with your rifle and take care of anyone who tries to cross. And back to the answer, yes you can still use E10 in your ecoboost. LOL

Ethanol is a scam. E10 will reduce mpg by an average of 3.5% (from a stochiometry perspective) so you do use less of the pure gas but throw away so much energy in the production of all that ethanol that we as a country should put the billions in a big pile and just set fire to it. Not to mention the increased cost of feed and food. It is a government program without merit.

Part of the spoiled children doing their occupation of wall street (note that purple with that kind of time on their hands do not have an occupation). Ethanol goes good with Coke, just keep out of my engines.
