There is one about 5 miles from my house that sells pure gas, but it is only 93 octane. Only one selling 87 is about 30 miles away, so it isn't worth driving there just to buy gas unless I'm passing through.

I know it is a pipe dream, but I wish someone running for the Presidency or for a Congressional seat would stand up against this ethanol BS. It doesn't do a thing to reduce our dependency on oil and is nothing but another farming subsidy.

some states don't require the stations to put the sticker on so you could be buying it without your knowledge.

Even in states that do require it, like mine, there will be stations that don't label. Every year a weights and measures person comes out and makes sure the pumps are dispensing the right amount of fuel, but they don't test ethanol levels.

Sams was ethanol free here up till 6 months ago. The closest store that is ethanol free is in Abilene, they have a sign on all their pumps stating they are ethanol free.

Yeah, ethanol sucks. Worse gas mileage and less power and it actually costs more. The only way it works is to throw a ton of government money at it. And we all know we have alot of government money to just throw away on turning perfectly good food into fuel by using massive amounts of natural gas in the process. And don't even mention the cost to feed livestock now that corn is being used for ethanol. Remember when people bought hamburger helper cause hamburger was a cheap food? And also what about the fact that switchgrass can be used almost as efficiently to make ethanol as corn so why are we not using that? Maybe because the farmers cant make the big money off of switchgrass? There is no other demand for that so the prices cannot as easily be driven up as corn can. It's all about the govt blowing money in the name of the environment and we are paying the price at in taxes and at the supermarket. I guess at least the farmers getting the money can buy more Ford trucks and support this forum. But then again they are probably buying Superdutys with diesels so they don't have to pay road tax on the fuel they burn in them, so they would be on an F250 forum I guess. So long story short, Yes you can run E10 in an ecoboost. Sorry for the rant.

The opinion is generally against methanol. I get that. What I'm wondering is, has anyone heard of oxidation issues because if its' affinity for water?

It is not labeled as E10. It is labeled as blended with 10% ethanol. It is possible that you are using it and don't even know it? Not trying to insult you; just asking.

No insult taken. I'm going to double check when I get fuel tonight.
