Oil, and then driving 150 miles in the rain with dew point close to ambient temperature, the added pressure in the IC raises the dew point to ambient temps. When dew point is the same as ambient temperature, condensation forms.

After driving in the proper conditions, I will be able to drain this consistency for several days, then it will go back to just dark oil I can drain out.

Been thinking of replacing my PCV valve because I do get ALOT of oil buildup

Its nasty stuff that doesn't burn, mostly blow by combustion byproducts, oil vapor that has condensed to liquid and with water hanging onto it all. The synthetic oil accepts more of the H2O vapor condensation in the mix. I would wear glove protection if you handle it.

Default It Works

2012 Platinum 3.5 L ecoboost, at 55,000 on way to miss, notice slight shudder while cruising , cruise control on , when it encountered the slightest grade and needed to accelerate it would shudder, first thought transmission but knew it couldn't be that running 75mph in 6th gear. Thought it was bad gas or something and blew it off. It got worse, read up , replaced spark plugs , bought two new ignition coils and rotated those around , still shudder was getting worse.

Took to dealer , he said I put in wrong plugs, they changed and re flashed, problem still there. Took back in they charged me $75 for the stick on cover that covers bottom half of intercoller. Last month , driving from Atlanta to St Simmons island about 5 hours it got worse , generally problem didn't occur until running after about 40 minutes, The next morning in ST Simons not even 5 minutes into driving it starting shuddering so bad one after another one it was almost un drivable. Got back home, dealer kept for week, said they could find nothing wrong, but i did notice they had taken the bottom cover off intercooler.

I am out of warranty now with 69,000 miles. When I picked up from dealer , I got my drill and 1/16 bit , got under truck , found lowest point , drilled the hole. When I went to touch , just barely a little water oil mix on finger. I fired her up and went for a drive , I generally could make it shudder on demand on certain grades by applying just a little gas and it would do it every time. I could not make it shudder, i ran errands and all kind of driving got back under truck and you could see where it had blown water/oil mix on front air dam, not a lot but enough where you could see it looked like someone had wiped air dam clean in two inch section, It has not leaked in driveway one time.
It has been over a week now in hot humid Ga conditions and two rainstorms. I think it might have shuddered twice but it was so minor im not even sure. I have read all about the vacuum concerns , etc. I have as much power as i had when truck was brand new. My only other alternative until I drilled the hole was trading it in, but I love my truck and have it rigged, lifted, new tiers , etc and its paid for, I didn't want to trade.
Drilling the weep hole worked for me and I have my truck back. Thank you to all the guys that posted with fixes etc.

Ya, you do have an exceptional amount of oil. Sorry you have to deal with that.

You can mess with your stock PCV, but a dual valve catch can will do a better job addressing the oil accumulation with a turbocharged engine. And in your case it seems you need all the advantage you can get! Why not throw every trick in the book at it considering the severity of your issue? Baby steps are good for some people, but you're suffering more than most.

And if you have a can that holds 2 qts. you don't have to drain it near as often. I would also unhook the battery for 15 and re-drive/relearn the ECU/PCM after drilling the hole.

Definitely get the big can. Warm air from the crankcase will drop a lot of water in the can when the can gets cold in cooler weather.

I have a can in the works as well, just waiting for it

Default Ecoboost condensate drain hole, post your results here

The PCV system and the CAC accumulation have nothing to do with one another. Both have issues. One can be addressed with a catch can(PCV) the other with a hole. Catch can accumulation looks nothing like what come from the CAC. The CAC gets oil from turbo blow by (normal) and the water is condensation from ambient air rapidly changing temperature, the 2 combine to form what's pictured here.

I have noticed that ever since I got the brown Pcv that my can has not caught a single oz of oil. Maybe once you get a can then after get the brown pcv and let me know if you got the same results.
