I experienced major power loss...which I found out a while later was a loose inlet connection. Either the dealer didnt tighten it enough when they put the new IC in, or all the oil going into the IC made the connection slippery and caused the pipe to slip off under high boost. Looking at the inlet you wouldn't think it was slipping off aside from the oil residue all around the area. Towing previous to the new IC truck held 6th uphill. After the new IC it would downshift to 5th sometimes even 4th. Once I tightened that connection it held 6th again. I don't think the IC itself caused a major decrease in power in stock form, it was a shotty install. But with aftermarket tunes, I see much higher coolant temps than most, which I blame on the revised IC. And that leads to reduced power with an aftermarket tune.

I drilled the hole back in May and removed the deflector, and had been running aftermarket tunes. Have not had any loss of power episodes since. And just 3 weeks ago I did a 250 mile run in fog at constant 60-70 mph. No loss of power during acceleration. After parking my truck overnight though, came outside to find puddles of goo under the truck.

I just purchased an aFe IC to put on my truck now, so will not have a hole and we'll see what happens.

I would offer up still go with the tiny hole for engine protection sake.

Doesn't the AFE IC have a built in weep hole you can open or close as desired? Or did you not get that model? I think it was the bladerunner.....

My truck went into limp mode on a foggy afternoon, passing a semi on a 2 lane road at 13k miles. I had the tsb done by ford right after the issue, and havent had a problem since. Just about to turn 60k miles now!

Im not going to be drilling any holes!
What model truck and which tsb did they perform? What did they do? Thanks
