I think I paid less than $400 for the Bassani X pipe that I had on my 99 GT back in the day, and it was 100% stainless and had converters to boot. When I went with an off road X about a year later, it was just around $200 for an aluminized one made by UPR.

This reeks of "these guys paid $30-50k for a truck, what is another $500-1000" type pricing.

Or the reality of how little of people are really going to modify their trucks in this regard...

retarded pricing is retarded. Will not buy at that price. Should be $500 for a catted version, $200-300 for no cats.

We see what they say. I sent an email to their rep today asking about it.

I would bet that even at that high price it is still cheaper than buying just one cat at the dealer.

At that price, it certainly isn't going to encourage it. I was interested in doing it myself until I saw the prices on the ones on the market. Completely turned off to it now.

I don't give a damn about "emissions" (another topic for another day), but with the crappy fuel these days the problem with going cat-less is the exhaust simply stinks. Blech. Been there, done that. The performance bonus is a plus, though.

From my prior experience with the off road X pipe, there was only a very marginal performance difference vs the Bassani pipe anyway. I kept the off road pipe on the car simply for the sound.

I'd probably get a pipe with cats if they weren't asking nearly $1000 for it, although there is no smog testing where I live. My wife drives the truck often enough she'd probably object to the unburnt fuel smell rather quickly.

Will a tune or exhaust or cai void the warranty? I'm sure the programmer will but if returned to stock setting will it leave a foot print in the computer?
