Default How to replace belts.

2012 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost
150K miles Time to replace both belts as they are the original belts.
Looked under the hood and there is so much stuff in the way that I can hardly see the belts and pulleys let alone get tools in there to do the job. Any good You-Tube video on this?

Check out FordTechMakuloco's video series on the 3.5 ecoboost timing set replacement. The belts were removed and replaced with all the boost and intake tubes removed, the ones in the way anyway. Not sure how far you would need to go with pipe removal, but i would only remove whats necessary. The alternator/water pump belt has a spring loaded tensioner so that comes off and goes on commonly. The A/C belt on the other hand is something ive never dealt with until doing the timing job on my truck. Its like a big rubber band and doesnt have a tensioner at all. Getting it off was a pain in the butt, but getting it back on was super easy. Aagin, watch the timing job reassembly side of the video series for how to do that. Cut off the old one and the new belt should have installation zip ties.

If that is the case...just cut it off...You are replacing it anyway so why not make that easier!
