Ecoboost Block Heater Help
I know it's the middle of summer and 80* but I was just informed that I will be relocated to Minot, ND in Feb. I'm guessing I will need a block heater for my 2011 Eco but the dealer wants $475 to install the OEM unit. I know this can't be hard to do but can someone take a picture or tell me what plug I must remove to install the heating element. I found the oem block heater for $150 on ebay. I figure I should only have to drain the antifreeze in a new bucket, remove plug, install heating element, refill antifreeze, and route plug wire. Sure beats stealership quote...

2011 Lariat Screw EB
I live in Wisconsin and I have the heater. Never plugged it in. I'm not entirely sure it's needed above -30. And if you will keep it in a garage.......

Is this screw (on the timing cover) the one that is removed to install the heating element? If so, do you have a picture of it? I can probably install this element without losing too much antifreeze but I need to know what plug to pull to install the heating element....

To save you some cash. Put the plug on a timer. It should only take about four hours to get it up to temp any longer and your just wasting power. I had one in my old F250 V10 and my Duramax. They are nice when it is really cold, but they sure do like to eat electricity.
