I think it would help with the sound. Give it more of a deeper sound and echo that turbo better. IMO the stock 3inch looks to small on the truck.

Sound? Not really! The Solo single tip is a 5" and it is plenty big IMO! And it still will not roll coal! Lol
Solo does have a good variety of tips that you may want to look at?

It'd look as dumb as it does on the diesels. Next thing you know, you'll see 10" tips and 6" exhaust systems on Ecoboosts because "you need all the flow you can get and bigger is better."

^^^^That's what she said...sorry had to do it.

and to the OP he's being sarcastic, lol. There is maximum size that reaps benefits. Just adding the tip shouldn't decrease performance, however it might add sound in a bad way---it should be more "tingy" if that makes sense. To make it deeper I would look more at one that has baffles and length.

When I had my 2012 fx4 in candy red, I had a 4in heartthrob exhaust that I painted black and mated it to a 5in RBP tip and it looked perfect Imo. Not too big or small, made a subtle increase in sound.
