Okay cool, I was a little confused between when you had the diamond and the MBRP. So coming from the turbo; catless downs, diamond 30' resonator, aero turbine muffler, and that f250 tip? Im tempted to do the resonator and muffler until I can spring for the downpipe. Not sure how it will sound though, might still sound like a submarine. The down pipes really bring out some growl!

Yeah I can see that now. In your two most recent vids you've got the diamond resonator, in the first one you have the MBRP. The diamond sounds a bit more "civilized" if you will haha.

Woops! one more question; is the straight pipe and f150 tip that you originally gave a part number for necessary if I am only doing resonator and muffler?

thanks for all the help!

The f250 tail section is required. Even with a 30" resonator and a muffler you'll need a 1-2ft section of 4" straight pipe. I will add one other thing. The tune changes the sound s great deal at all rpm ranges. I'm torn between the 93 tow and 93v2. Truck has a more growling sound with 93 tow. With perf tune it is more sport/ricey if you will.

mmmm... Im trying to avoid the sport/ricey sound. Im sure its difficult though. Maybe I should just keep the exhaust stock until I can spring for a tune and down pipes. Which may be a while due to warranty. Im really gonna try and ride on this warranty as I'm in college and cant afford to have anything major go wrong. Im sure a resonator and muffler wouldnt cause any warranty issues, but a tune and downpipes might.

Not to crash the discussion, but I have been told and am looking into the truth that the GM/Chev 6.0 and 6.2L stock exhaust systems are a 3.5" that fit without too many mods and actually sound quite nice. Like Joewee's system, it has a muffler and a resonator, both straight thru flow designs, but being OEM, have more sound deadening packing in them for a quieter sound. I am after exactly that... more flow with less noise. I have found a used Chev takeoff for $200, I am going to try it behind my 3" downpipes, and will let you know how it sounds

I'm sure it will sound fairly close to stock and flow better. Sounds like a great idea.

I sold my 3 inch stock system with the Aero 3030xl to a Chevy owner. Welded in and exited perfectly.

CRock, can you post some soundclips/video of the 4040XL system? Would it be quieter than the 4040? Still planning my system, want to cover all the options. Thanks.
