okay I glanced through all 102 pages briefly.. I have a stock 2013 FX4 eco, should I go with the colder NGK Iridium IX LFR7AIX gapped at .030? starting here to see if it changes anything.. seems like my truck is running like crap, loss of fuel mileage/power and at idle I think I have the shudder. want to try this before I drill.

I have the SP 534's gapped to .030. I am currently tuned, but made plug change before tuning. No issues before or after tuning with this setup.

Yah I did some more research and found that the NGK doesn't seem to do as well, I went with the motorcraft. I also got the boots and some dielectrode grease, some injector cleaner, MAF cleaner and a catch can. If this doesn't fix it idk what will.

And of I want best milage gap at 35

So what is the gap I am just considering leaving them at the Factory 30

Any recommendations as it is getting really cold here nd am about to do this outsiade before a road trip.

Wanting to get this right the first time. And do I need to dealer to update ny software being i am usi g the plug recommended in the latest tech bulletin ?

.030 seems to be the best all around. The gap widens with use as the Ecoboost is hard on plugs especially if you push it. I ended up changing plugs every 30,000 miles. Also, gently snug them down as they only take 11 ft/lbs or 133 in/lbs. My dealer ruined a set by over tightening. I went in with one plug misfiring and came out with 3 of my new plugs misfiring. I replaced them myself and they were a dog to get out.

.030 is the absolute max gap for spark plugs. Do this and the weep hole and you will not have misfire.

Posting in case someone might be curious. Replaced my 2013 ecoboost plugs at 32k miles. The originals were gapped .039 to .040. Here they are:

Just did mine today and they were all over .040. My truck has 103k miles and I'm not sure if they were ever changed before today. I gapped the new ones at .030. I did notice that the new plugs a had an extra letter in the part number that is printed on the porcelain.

Same on mine as I just did them Saturday. Have noticed the MPG readout on the information screen is already around 4 mpg better but will verify over the next 4 weeks as I hand calculate each fill up. I did not have misfires with them all being over .040 gap when I pulled them out. Truck has 55,085 miles.

My MPGs didn't change but the truck idles and runs smoother.
