So did it fix the problem of shudder and poor gas mileage?

Can the dealership service dept fix the spark plug gap issues?

I should hope so! However they might not believe it's a problem and will want to charge you.

I wanted to change my plugs this morning. I stopped on the first one as the COP wouldn't come off readily. It easn't easy getting any leverage with the hand on the COP. It feels like the boot has a real grab on the plug. You can turn or rotate the COP easy enough, I just couldn't get it to pull out. Maybe I'm missing something... Sometimes it's just best to come back to it on another day and it all seems easy. For the record, I have pulled COPs before on an Expedition that I had previously.

If anyone has some pointers, I am all ears.

The first time they are pretty snug. It should come loose by hand.

Just tried buying some plugs at Orielly and they said that the 13's use the 528's also gapped at 0.035. I have a 2011 but wanted to put the 534's pre-gapped so I could just take the old ones out and slap the new ones in. Any thoughts?

Corey,

The COP is loose (of course the hold down bolt is off) in that I can rotate the COP. It just won't readily pull out. I am concerned that if I pull to hard on the COP that I will seperate the "boot" from the coil.

That would be concerning. I'd say flip a coin and have cash for a coil in case.

I had the boot come off of mine the other day. It took me an hour to dig it out. I had to wait untill the next morning for the dealers parts dept to get me one. I got four plugs done. The other two I didn't touch after the boot came off. The four COP were hard to get off.

I assume Ford has a special tool they use to make this easier when they change plugs at the service dept.
