Haven't checked my plugs yet.....overall I'm pretty happy with the way my truck runs, other than an occasional rough-ish idle.

I'm curious to see if there is will be any negative effects seen from going to the small side of the of the recommended gap. Generally speaking an improvement in mileage and performance can be seen by running the widest gap the your ignition system can support.

I changed out my plugs this last weekend... All the OE plugs were 0.040 - 0.042. I changed to NGK Iridium IX LFR7AIX (one step colder) which all came gapped to 0.030. It's definitely smoother now...

Just got done checking my plugs. All 6 were right at .030, I have not had any issues other than rough idle on cold starts for the first 20 seconds. My truck is a 2012 with 5,000 miles on it.

Just checked mine, they were all about .037". Closed 'em down to .030-.032. We'll see if any improvement at the track tomorrow.

Got 19mpg on my road trip to michigan. 600+lbs of cargo and 3 40 minute stops that I had to idle the whole time. Average speed 70mph. There was a stretch of construction where I reset the meter and averaged 26mpg for 30 miles at 55mph. Drafting a semi helped. Couldn't really get on it due to precious cargo (baby).

Do you guys think that the plugs that come stock just have issues after you get more miles on them? Or did Ford change gaps between 2011-2012?

I think whomever supplies Ford with the plugs screwed up a bunch and, since they weren't getting ***** from Ford, they fixed the gap issue when they noticed it and kept quiet. But yeah, they could be crap plugs.

i just purchased a new set of plugs from Ford and they all came set at .033ish. Its better than the .042ish the originals were.

Amazingly enough, ford only charged $33 for the whole set. I went in there thinking $10each and was pleasantly surprised!

Anyone have the right NGK and Denso part #'s for the Ecoboost? I am going to change them when I get my tune in December.
