Your thread and your post is far too upbeat!
Your glass is more than half-full.
You are far too enthusiastic and do not have any negativity and whiny disposition in your commentary.
I am sure if you think hard enough, look deep enough, you will be able to come up with at least something, which will be negative about this new engine!? Did you hear any strange noises, does it leak any strange fluids, is it running hotter than you had expected, when you open the hood, does it sit fully level in the engine compartment, are the decals straight, etc. ??
Hey!! Seriously, thank you for the report; it is good to get this type of direct feeback from a proud new owner. I cannot wait to get mine!!
I think Ford has hit a home run here and the timing is perfect with all that is happening with the gas prices. This is the future; in two or three years, you will see this as the standard and you won't see much of a market for a 5.4, 6.2, or 6.8 equipped vehicle.

Wow! I want one now! Just pulled my 6500lb trailer 400 miles & got 7 mpg in my '02 5.4L! Cost me $170 bucks to go a bit less than 400 miles! & I was down to 45mph over the Siskiyou Summit with the nasty headwind.

Hey, I have been up and over that summit many times, and sometimes with a 21' boat; I understand what you say!!

Nice post about the Eco, though. I was expecting something negative after reading the title.

The title scared me half to death too. I just ordered one on Saturday. Good to hear it's a positive experience since I traded off an 06 5.4. I hope I can get 14 mpg towing a 5000# toyhauer instead of the 10 mpg I was getting. I'll probably keep it around 60 and set the cruise too. Did you click the O/D off button or just let it shift?

Thanks for the great photos and so fast!!
I have the sterling gray too, but in your photos it takes on a different hue; maybe that Arizona sun!? It's a great and versatile color.
I like that six-bar grill too. Too bad the Lariat doesn't come with that grill as an option.
And yeah, SoCal is great and I do miss it at times; but I do get down to see my son in the Pasadena area multiple times a year.
Again, great truck and with the EB-XLT, great value for the $$.

The best way to see a Chevy. Behind a Ford both on the track and on the road. And best yet towed by a Ford.
Looks like while the truck has its recall work done I'll be seeing what the dealer can due on a trade.
Keep us posted. I'll look for you when I am in Jersey.
