Yes it needs a tune.

crazy, I have the SOLO offroad pipes... over 3000 miles now, no CEL.
It does make a weird sound every once in a while, especially at cold temperatures when barely on the throttle, kids likened it to my truck farting! That's actually what it sounds like. I wonder if the larger pipes get exhaust rolling in them, and the smaller diameter resonator section doesn't let it out fast enough and it sets up a reverberation? I will be upsizing the rest of the system soon, so hopefully that noise goes away.

My mak's make that same noise as well under those same conditions. Nothing is rubbing that I can tell. I found a couple of things loose underneath last night so I tightened them back up but haven't been in the same situation for it to make that noise.

I've got solo's catted pipes. Didn't get a cel until I installed their mr400. Still trying to figure that one out. Didn't think I would get one with catted downpipes. Haven't taken it in yet

I'm so torn on what exhaust to put behind it.
By the time we monkeyed round with cutting pipes and welding, I would be over $100 to replace the 2.5" resonator with a 3" pipe, and leave the stock muffler and tailpipe on. Anyone done this?

I like the stealthy sound, I don't want it loud. Been told that removing the resonator will allow the turbo whistle to come through more. I spend the better part of my day driving, so I cannot stand a drone or loud exhaust - a sign of passing from my youth! The ricers that pass with the fartcan mufflers drive me nuts now. Not too many years ago I was doing that myself!

Any suggestions?

Did you watch the video I posted? It shouldn't drone, shouldn't hear much on the highway. Idk about towing, that's a whole other beast.
