I've listened to damn near every clip on utube and came up with either FR 3' cat back or SW cat back. I'm going to make my mind up and order one one em this week. Will it be ok to run my cai and catback w/o a tune??
I've been running my solo with no tune for close to 2,500 miles now, no issues, no codes, no lights...only sounding better with every mile.
You'll be perfectly fine with a cat-back---IMHO I was surprised to hear how quiet the full-race exhaust is compared to a lot of others. It sounded like the turbo was more pronounced over the exhaust note... based on what you want, sounds like a good choice.
I'm trying to stay away from that 6cyl sound if at all possible, just looking to make the turbo louder out the exhaust. Don't think I could listen to raspy exhaust tone when driving all day.
stock Y pipes (stock cats) attached to a 3" catback with resonator is recommended... thats what we run on our single turbo truck and I love it, would not change a thing. Im tired of loud exhausts (we deal with wayy too many loud cars here)

thanks, thats how we designed it

In my opinion, the restrictive 2.5" factory catback stock exhaust is the part to address. Ford's oem catalytic converters are actually well made from good materials and offer compartively low backpressure. An aftermarket catted dp will undoubtedly be higher flowing initially, but they sound like crap (raspiness) and do not last!! Once it breaks down it becomes poor flowing and will lose the power gain it had initially -- Any catted downpipe priced affordably definitely uses cheap cats that dont like being post turbo!! Core max temp on these cheap cats is only good to 1300F so it will come apart and seperate before too long, especially if you put high load on the motor and get them hot - OEM trucks towing up a steep hill can get into 1600+F egt...
FWIW full-race catback gains power over open DP dyno charts will be uploaded tomorrow
