Diablosport Tune is coming....

Whoa, a 32% Drive Train Loss? No way. Did they say why it was so low baseline numbers?
Well from this article and dyno, you're right on with the torque, but off on the HP by 25...

It could be a number of things. Our guess was a tank of bad gas had the PCM pulling timing. The low baseline was the first dyno pull of the day. After some tuning, we put the stock tune back on the truck and made another pull, it picked up 10rwhp over the first pull of the day.

So does that mean your 25rwhp gain was really 15rwhp?
Is Diablo also tweaking tranny shifts, etc? I have been close to buying 5star tune but havent pulled the trigger yet, so I am watching this thread.
Thanks!

They have another truck coming in tomorrow morning to work on the tuning further and to do the tranny tuning. I'll keep you posted on the results, but yes this is going to be a full blown tune using a good sampling of vehicles to create it.

Thought I would offer an update on the Diablosport tuning. The guys had another truck in last week, this time a 5.0L 2wd truck with 3.55 gears. Truck put down a baseline of 307/319 at the wheels. Picked up 15/20 just like my truck did, to finish with 322/339 on 87 octane. This truck was bone stock down to the paper filter. His MPG is averaging over 18.5 now. Transmission tuning is now complete which made a huge difference in driving around town. On Monday they are going to finish up the 93 octane tuning, so I imagine the tuner will be out very shortly.
Looks like the slightly larger tires and 4wd on my truck was expensive in the HP department. Huge difference in baseline HP.
As for the Ecoboost tuning, its gonna be a little while. The Ecoboost ECM is a highly encrypted BOSCH unit that apparently at the moment is unreadable similar to the unit in the 6.7L diesels. Ford isn't messing around this time with their turbo motors after people started popping them in the SHO Taurus.

I sent Mike at 5 star tuning an email and he responded by the next morning. My truck is the 4.6 2v and he recommended the SCT3. He told me that if I got any other fords or traded for a newer one later I could still use it on them also. I had a Diablo for a mustang I had but to my knowledge I can't use it on anything else, though it did a good job. Just something you all might want to consider before you buy. I still have that Diablo sitting in its original box and it is just like new, basically used once and can't use it now.

The newer Diablo tuner is known as the Trinity. It is the same unit (Part Number) for all the vehicles, so as long as you return the vehicle to stock you can use it on a different vehicle. Not like the old Predator tuners that only had tunes for a set few vehicles.
