Diablosport Tune is coming....
Hey guys, just thought I'd share what I consider good news. I'm heading over to Diablosport on Monday morning for a full dyno tune. Why is that good news you ask? Well because it also means they will be releasing that tune in the near future on their Trinity tuner. If they stick to their usual plan, there will be 87 octane tunes, both power and economy, and a 91+ Octane tune. I'll be leaving with a 93 Octane tune.
I worked with these guys a few years ago in creating a tuner for the Trailblazer SS, and they were able to get 42 rwhp out of just a tune on that vehicle. Later we tuned it for a turbo and ended up with around 440 rwhp They were able to really wake up the new 5.0 Mustang in a similar fashion, so I'm expecting good things.
I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes, and put up some dyno sheets when i have them. My truck is pretty much stock down to the paper filter, other than my level lift and 285/65/20 Duratracs. I'm excited to see what kind of potential this engine really has.

If something goes wrong and it turns out to be tuning related, Ford can void your warranty.
I would say compatible... there are a lot of people who recommend Mike at 5Star. I've not dealt with either, just very curious.

Yup, that thing was tuned stupid conservatively from the factory. Knocked over 0.50 seconds off my 1/4 mile time on the tune alone.
Just got back from my marathon trip to Diablosport. Left the house at 5:15 am to get them a little after 8:30. They worked on the 87 octane performance tune today. Truck baselined at 260/285 at the wheels. We were all pretty shocked by the low numbers. Final numbers were 285/305 at the wheels. Air temp was over 95%, and the humidity was crazy. I'm very pleased to pick up 25 HP and 20 TQ at the wheels on the 87 octane tune. Looking forward to seeing what we can get out of her with 93 in her belly and then take a look at a CAI tune. The rev limiter on the truck seems to be hard tuned at 6K rpm, but the Mustangs have shown huge gains over that RPM range. Working on upping the limiter a bit if it is possible.
This is just preliminary tuning, still have some work to do with the rev limiter and a few other parameters. Bottom line, there are gains to be had safely. It definitely woke the truck up noticeably, and on my 200 mile return trip I averaged almost 1.5 mpg better, take that as you will.
