If I could do it all over again, my 5.0 would be a 3.5 maybe next year or just another one? even tho I am mostly in the 1 ton market my personal truck doesnt have to be, as far as turbo's I just sold a 95 powerstroke 2nd year with the turbo'd 7.3 DI, and it had 394k on the turbo no issues...so turbo's shouldnt be a factor injectors are costly but the power and fuel economy difference would be worth it

I know you made up your mind... but I feel its pertinant to let you know that I owned a 1985 Volvo 760 Turbo sedan a few years ago. It had 333k miles on it when I purchased it. By the time I sold it a year later, it had just under 400k miles and it was on its ORIGINAL turbo, engine, transmission and rear end. Apparently, the kid that purchased it is still driving it around the streets of Richmond, VA.
Keep the oil changed and the PCV valve clean and you won't (or shouldn't) ever have to replace them.

Man you're resurrecting some OLD stuff, lol... with the tune, it probably won't be warranty work, just a warning. Let me know though, trying to decide if I'm willing to keep this thing or not... I'm spoiled by the power in the tune and not willing to go back to stock but don't want to worry about what it'll cost me when I suck up a slug of water and hydro-lock my motor.

I drove both and thought they both were great engines. I wanted the Eco but what sold me was price. Dealers were dealing more on the 5.0 and it cost $750 less plus they were knocking about $2000 more off the 5.0 MSRP. I went with the 5.0 because I got it for almost $3000 less. I am getting 17 mpg average and love the truck!
With that money you can level, get new tires, and upgrade the audio on your truck, and still have a little coin left over! Was a big factor for me when I bought too. Got a similar deal. Enjoy your new toy!
