Class Action Suit for Ecoboost problems?

kelley350x, i am sure now that your truck has been corrected, have you had it in the same conditions as before and u feel confident that whatever they did eliminated your trucks issues? Was yours weather related or just bad parts related?

strictly parts. Once they changed the intercooler, cats, and pcm program it has not messed up again, we have had hot days, cold, cool, rain and dry. I have tested it pulling my 16' lowboy with a 4' gate in the same humid mornings with no issues. Before the reflash of my pcm and intercooler i couldn't make it more than 1 mile and the CEL would be on and it would be shaking all over the road..

Sorry Fitz... Riccochet, didnt say he was towing a yacht.. Suggesting a PSD just because he said the word boat is......... how did you say it????? Over the top????? If you are towing less than your truck is rated for there is no reason to have to change your plugs or even regap them at 17k miles,
On my old drag bike I also changed the clutch after every pass. If we are comparing apples to apples, are you ok with doing that every 17k miles as well?
I do agree that this problem will never get a class action going but I will not write it off and say ohh well... My truck has 57k miles on it and the plugs have never been regapped or changed. All of my issues were tied to the intercooler and pcm programming. once they did the update mine is now 100%..

Realistic apples to apples would be: would you change the plugs in a 1300hp, 540ci supercharged pump gas V8 every 17K. the comparison is proportional to the displacement versus the hp. The answer is heck ya, and likely much sooner. the statement was metaphoric, not rhetorical...
And yes, some of the surge was from programming, I did my own so as to save me the cost of diagnosis and flash., the rest I have explained in prior posts.

No, he didn't say what he was towing, but having said that, I just happen to be in the marine industry, and yes I have pulled "boats" in excess of 11k# for short hauls and others for a full day of travel in the 9k# zone.. I have seen boats that will outweigh yachts by a long shot. he said he didn't want to change plugs every 15k, get a diesel...

not sure how you are getting those comparison numbers....
3.5 liters x 60= 210 ci (roughly)
385 hp/210 ci=1.83 hp per ci
540 ci*1.83=988 hp
or if you want to go the other way...
1300hp/1.83=710 ci or 11.84 liters.
1300/540=2.41 hp per ci...
either way, suggesting someone being ok with changing their plugs at less than 50k miles is bull crap I did it every 50k on my 04 5.4 liter because I didn't want them to get stuck in the head. If you are ok with buying something that does not perform as it should that is one thing but must people expect to get what they paid for.. You work for Ford don't you?

again... suggesting someone buy a PSD to tow a boat is ignorant unless you know what kind of boat it is..

Correction:
3.5 liters x 60= 210 ci (roughly)
475 +/- hp/210 ci=2.26 hp per ci (I haven't described my mods. [404whp])
540 ci*2.26= 1221 hp
Sorry, I missed by 79hp
I was relating to my own situation as a description of what solved my own issues in hopes it could help others find solutions.
