Default Can anyone help me figure out what happened?

Purchased a used certified 2011 F150 FX4 with the 3.5L Ecoboost and 61,000 miles on in. 1.5 years later, I am at 112,000 miles. On Friday my check engine light came on. Drove it about 20 miles Saturday due to a work emergency. The Sunday right after, I decide to get it looked at. On the way, I am accelerating from a stop sign and hear a quiet clank. My oil pressure drops completely and my truck immediately shuts itself off within two seconds. Have it towed to the dealership I purchased it from and Ford takes 3 days to even manually try to turn it over. Long story short, my engine is locked up and has to be completely replaced after only 112,000 miles. Oil was changed by Ford regularly and there was oil in the truck when they checked it. No Oil was leaking either.

The truck maybe ran for 2 tops after losing oil pressure. The truck had its plugs changed out 2 oil changes ago and it idled rough ever since but they said they didnt know why that was the case. I am pretty frustrated as I am now best case out $8,600 I do not have for a truck I am still making payments on. They also will not break down the engine to see what went wrong unless I pay them. Any thoughts on what might have happened?

I feel its pretty ridiculous to have an engine lock up at 112,000 miles on it. Worst part is that it is only about 3k over the warranty

Always amazed when guys post these questions as if there's something wrong with driving that many miles. Some guys live in their trucks since it is crucial to their ability to earn a living.

Exactly trucks are made to be driven.

So it's for sure locked up and it didn't window the block? Did they pull the codes out of the ecu? That may tell a story

Maybe the oil pump quit and that's what the code was signaling

That's what they said but honestly I think they have barely even looked at it. They said trying to turn over the ignition it would start to turn over and sieze up. They removed the AC belt and tried to turn it manually to no avail. Going back tomorrow so I will see if I can get the codes.

If the oil pump were toast would I still have oil pressure? Because I never actually lost pressure until the clank

And yes unfortunately I drive close to 130 miles a day of not more for work. I am in medical sales and work in hospitals all over the state. Pretty much paying my dues and being the grunt. Even worse I pay my own car note, gas, insurance, everything. Over 40,000 of those 51,000 miles were work related

Exclamation

It wasn't a statement/question out of "amazement".... it was just a generalized question....

but OP, thanks for clarifying.
