Yea, mine was a TH350/Vigilante and a Ford 9". Great mph, but crappy rwhp numbers

Be careful with the cutout. I blew both head gaskets severely in a short distance because I didn't realize opening the exhaust up would throw my wastegate setting way off.

Shouldn't the boost controller adjust for that?

Nope that won't solve that. The wastegate must have not been sufficient enough to route the exhaust away from the turbine. In other words boost surge..

The manual ones won't, and the electronic ones only will if it's not out-of-range. I was using a manual boost controller on a Tial 40 mm wastegate, if memory serves. I had it set around 22 psi on the street. I opened up the exhaust to take it to the track and it boosted to the moon, blew both head gaskets, and hydrolocked the motor. The manual ones are not feedback devices. I was able to turn it down with the controller, but not below 17 psi. I honestly would have been happy at 15 psi and pump gas, but the wastegate simply wasn't big enough. I removed the guts out of it as an experiment and it still made 17 psi, though the boost curve was more like a centrifugal SC.

I'm running a tial 48. It should be sufficient for that 76gts. Plus I'm running a eboost2 and it is suppose to compensate for those types of issues.

1st it started with a 2001 Mustang GT

Then it was a 2003 Cobra Mustang (ported/pullied/sprayed)

Then a 2007 F150 FX4 (6" Skyjacker with Roush intercooled Roushcharger)

With Crappy Roush tune, later added a Troyer tune @ 10psi

Then I started a Fox body turbo project but never finished it (sold it)

Then my 1st 2011 F150 Ecoboost

Any then my current

I had a lot of vehicles in between, but since my very 1st boosted truck I was instantly addicted.

I have a friend with a Mazdaspeed 3 (3076 turbo) and he's having problems with boost creep. Sometimes you have to add an extra wastegate, it's only money right?

I really coulda just installed a larger single wastegate, but couldn't convince myself to spend more money in an effort to reduce power.
