Get a v-nose. I hear the difference in pulling, wind drag and MPG is significantly noticeable over long trips.

Funny you should mention that. I'm about to go 180 miles today with my single axle 12' V nose. Only about 3,000lbs total though. Pulled it before with the wifes Durango and was getting around 10 mpg. First time for the Ford though.

I knew I should have bought the red trailer but noooooo, the wife wanted it to match the Durango.

I will be towing a 3,000lb 2003 mustang with this trailer. What is your guys opinions and advice?

Load that Mustang in the back of the trailer and I'll come by to take care of it for you...seriously you will not have any problems as long as you watch what you are doing...AZ has some hella hills and hella heat to overcome out there.

I assume you have the tow package? If so, is it inside you tow rating? Polling interweb engineers is a funny way of assessing tow capacity. But I think you have nothing to worry about, as long as you have the tow package.

There's so much marketing propaganda flowin', many are getting the impression 'if you don't own an EB, you can't pull'! How in the world the op bought into that hooie is beyond me.

As jcain pointed out, the 3.7 is plenty capable, let alone the 5.0. The 3.7 is more powerful than the V8's 10 years ago, and guys were hauling the same crap back then.

I'm so bored of claimed 'torque curves' being touted as the only proof of a trucks prowess. No argument of the EB's capabilities. But my 5.0 absolutely makes my old V8 seem like a 4 banger. And at the time, I thought my other motor had more than enough power.

Think of it as a train behind you. Forty feet of train. (The mechanic who installed the trailer brakes for them in the movie!)

True, but it also almost ended their marriage

Dude, I tow a max of around 8,000 pounds with no problems. I know it's there, and It's working hard but tows it no problem.

Mike from 5 star nailed it on the head.

3,000 pounds? pfff - no problem!
