Default Anyones 6.2 making a motor noise?

I have a 2011 Screw with the 6.2L it just turned 1000 miles. At 600 I started to hear what sounds to be a head tick noise but it sounds like it is coming from the bottom end??!! it is loudest between 0-1500 rpm's and can easily be heard inside the truck. I took it to Ford and the tech cinfirmed the sound and wanted to drive a new one to compare. He said the new one had the same noise but louder. He also said there are no TSB'S from Ford on that motor, I just dont buy it.

I know the 5.4L had noise issues with the cam adjuster, and our injectors are loud. Has anyone with the 6.2 heard of this or has experienced this? This is annoying enough to make me sell my trruck if it is infact "normal"

I have about 2800 miles on mine and don't hear any noises coming from the engine. Did you ask to listen to a new one? I would want to compare the noise myself to a new one rather than trusting what the tech says.

I have a ticking noise at startup but goes away right away. Talked to ford development engineer and he said as long as it goes away right after startup its fine if not there is a problem. Hope this helps.

The old 5.4's had piston slap issues at cold startup, do a search you will find a lot of info. Ford will probably end up claiming this is normal if history repeats, although some did get new motors.

These engines have some cam followers problems they are softer than the cam. Which cause them to wear have seen a few all with low milage.

No problems with mine. That definitely is not normal.
