I also find that when you start the new Fords, eco or 5.0L they do want to rev high for a while. Just tap the throttle, just enough to say your foot touched the pedal and the rev's will drop right down. That way if you want to shift right away it doesnt jam the tranny into first

No, it is normal. It will actually be worse on a colder day. Old carbureted vehicles did the same thing too. It is all to minimize cold start emissions.

103 today is the forecast in upper IL. It has been one very hot week and a half! Have to say though, the truck ran great on tuesday and my backside stayed nice and cool.
That leads me to the problem I have with my truck. I didn't want to get out of it when I got home, its too hot out.

Yes and they now are saying here in Texas it may not get out of the 80's this weekend due to it being a wet weekend. Almost unheard of this time of year. I am the orignal poster and created this thread when I bought my 2011 Ecobost Screw 4x4. I had an issue with the left bank catalytic converter needed to be replaced due to an error code at a while back(March). Now after 12,000 miles I am happy to report I am 100% satisfied with my Truck and the Ecoboost engine.

oh I would love the 80's right now. Current temp up near Chicago, hit 103*, it actually dropped to 96 just now.
