Also the OLD 5.0 was really a 4.9, i know there are many out there that will dispute this but it was a 4.9 liter engine. also as for the fear of oil cooking in the turbos cuz you didnt let it cool down by letting your engine run for like 10mins after you stop, thats not an issue with the ecoboost. when shut down, it goes into water cooling mode which cycles water through the turbos until they are cooled down. end result for me is, what many here have said, go with what you like, i drove a 5.0 and the Ecoboost, both where impressive, but in the end i felt the EcoBoost was where it was at, & have been happy since purchase, & nothing is perfect, hope i dont have a problem but if i do, thats why i accepted a 6yr/100k mile bumper to bumper warranty.
Happy motoring to you all out there!

P.S. i purchased my F150 EcoBoost XLT SuperCab in Feb 2012, it was built on 8 Sept 2011, had 24 miles on it when i bought it this year, and yes it was a brand new truck, guess white isnt that popular color LOL.
Look how many current complaints with 5.0. Not even close to the ecoboost.

I have a feeling there are more ecoboost owners on this forum vs 5.0 owners. I like both motors. The only issue I had was with the transmission, minor issue that was resolved.

Which is why they didn't call the original Boss the "Boss 4.947"...

I do not have any. Wish I owned one instead of the eco.
My point is that you see very little complaints with 5.0 and yes most people on this site do indeed own ecoboost. If most people are like me they didn't start to look at these sites until they experienced problems, I conclude that more problems with Eco than 5.0.

I think the jury is still out on whether there are more issues overall with the EB than the 5.0.

Actually I came here to see if there were any problems with the eco's popping up. Thus far I haven't really seen anything alarming... Just a lot of mpg complaints but I also get a lot of those from people every day with various trucks and then when you follow them some where they drive like a bat outta hell and 80+ everywhere on the interstate.

100% happy with my eco...

Just wondered. I'm very happy with my 5.0 and hadn't seen a lot of complaints about it. I generally join a site devoted to whatever new bike/car/truck I buy to learn more BEFORE I make the purchase.
