I took mine out, couldn't tell much difference. My hearing isn't what it used to be(too many guns and white noise at work). Couldn't tell any difference performance-wise and might have made it a little louder. But I ain't putting them back in.

i have heard all the different claims. i took them out and can hear a slight difference. i asked the guys in the service department about them and they said that to there knowledge there's no harm in taking them out.

Ya I went through the whole thread of that one I posted with the video. It seemed like there was some divided opinions on it. I'm not sure either way if removing them has any effect on performance...I just did it to show the difference in sound that was being talked about in that thread.
