Air Intakes Legal?
Wanted to know if anyone has a list of Performance Cold Air Intakes that are legal in all 50 states and District of Columbia. Specifically in the state of Maryland, it would seem on the K&N site the K&N 77 Series High-Flow Performance Air Intake for the 2012 F 150 v8 5.0L is not legal in 13 or so states. See links below:

And I thought all along this was not an issue. Just when I begin looking into buying one does it come up when reading the advantages of better HP and fuel economy. Geez…..

I doubt there's a list. I think you'd do better finding the intake you want and seeing if they're legal.
FWIW, unless Maryland has state inspections and competent inspectors at those stations, buy the intake you want and call it a day. If there's an issue, put the stock one back on at inspection time.
I used to have a G37S before the F150 with 20% tint, smoked headlights, intake, exhaust, and a tune. I passed inspection every time because the inspectors only check for the basics at most stations.
