AFE Stage 2 thoughts?
just got mine in and installed today. fits great when you take the time to make sure you have proper clearances between both the pipes and close tubing. normal driving i didnt notice and difference in noise or throttle response, but lean on the skinny pedal and you can hear the engine come to life, definently opened it up in the mid range! thanks again AFE for takin care of us forum members
Hellz yeah...friggin rights, yeaahh!! I just got mine today, about 5 minutes ago. I will be installing it some time today and will let ya'all know some feedback. First, I have a big project ahead of me. I have to replace my water heater in my house and fix some wall board that got wet when it ruptured.
Cheers!

Cheers!
Guys, OK I admit it I am totally lame. My engineer pointed out that I screwed up my response on the MAF vs. MAP discussion. I have my engineer Jeff K. standing behind me telling me what to write. Here it goes.
Both 2011 and 2012 Ford Ecoboost use MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) Sensors. In the 2011 models, the MAP sensor mounting pad is identical to the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) sensor pads used on other non-Ecoboost F-150 models. In 2012 they updated the MAP sensor with a different sensor and mounting pad design. This MAP mounting pad is the difference between the two Stage 2 Ecoboost intakes discussed in this thread.
To identify the type of MAP sensor used, he 2011 uses a slotted hole in the mounting pad while the 2012 uses a round (drilled) hole in the mounting pad.
Sorry for the confusion. Thanks again for all your support on this thread. If you guys need me for anything, please feel free to contact me at jbruce@afepower.com or 951-493-7147. Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads out there.

Got mine installed late last night, and WOW. If your riding under normal conditions you can hear the air flow maybe just a little bit more, but when you get on the gas the engine come to life. I tried to record a sound clip on the iphone, but you could not hear it. To me just the sound of the turbos when you get on it were worth the money to me. Didnt have a chance to run it really good yet to tell if there was a HP increase.
I ordered mine from Jason and I received it right when he said I would. Great service. I installed it yesterday afternoon and as mentioned before, being patient and not tightening all the clamps initially facilitates the install. I have about 2300 miles on my truck so my seat time is not as good as other on this board. I noticed no additional increase in noise other than at heavy throttle (which is a plus). Part throttle performance feels about the same but the sucking noise under load tells me air is comming in easier. Honestly, (this is only my opinion) is that off idle there is a slight hesitation now that didnt seem to be there before. Maybe its just me. But other than off idle it does feel more responsive, especially in the 3500+ rpm range. Overall I am very pleased with it and would recommend the purchase. Today I received my SCT tune and installed but that feedback will be on the other thread. Again, I cant say enought about the AFE service, was well above what the norm is.
I ordered my stage 2 kit direct from AFE. Both Jason and Scott were great to deal with, top notch customer service. Thanks again guys! The install was super easy and took about 25 minutes. It was easier to install than the OEM brake controller (I have a FX4 lux pkg with the center console). I have previously installed the Solo 4" Mach 46 kit but that is my only performance mod so far. I have ordered the SCT tuner so I'll let you guys know how it all works together after I get it installed next week.
I have to say I'm really enjoying the the stage 2 (I chose the dry filters) kit so far. Sound is just like what others have experienced, normal driving maybe a little louder than stock, but when you lean on the gas you can really hear the turbos come to life. But even at it loudest it is not over the top or obnoxious! Just right in my opinion!
It does seem more responsive under normal driving as well as part throttle to WOT. I've noticed the biggest improvement in throttle response at about 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. My butt-o-meter can't tell you I picked up x amount of power but it does seem to pull smoother and maybe a little stronger. Then again it may be just the sweet sound of the turbos making me think it's pulling better
. I've only put about 200 miles on it so far but I think it was money well spent! I'll chime back in after a few more miles and let you guys know how it's doing.

Excited to hear all the great feedback on this intake. I just ordered mine today from Autoanything for $347 delivered! Feel like I got a good price on it. I ended up going with the Pro Dry version. anyway I will post up a video after installation for those still considering this mod that would like to hear what it sounds like. I know some of you guys have it installed already and would love to get some more feedback on how you're liking it. Any pics, videos, or additional info would be very much appreciated!
