Just sold mine with zero regrets. The entire process from the beginning had enough red flags for everyone to think twice about this product at this point and AFE as a company. They may make quality products for other applications but this experience was enough for me not to purchase from them again in the future. I didn't get answers or the product until I finally made enough phone calls to get the higher ups on the phone to explain consumers concerns. And with Jason as their spokesperson he should put out the correct info from the start and in a timely manner. I know he has more on his plate than just F150's and this forum but with as many members as there are here and all the potential profit to be made he should put out the correct facts in a timely manner. Confusing and conflicting dyno charts are not necessarily his fault but the company as a whole seems lost based on all the conversations I had with them. They were simply not prepared for the possible popularity of this design and still are scrambling to find solutions. IMHO I would wait quite awhile for them to get settled and to see actual proven dyno results from members who have nothing to gain by being honest before purchasing this product. I sold mine and broke even to a tuning company who will be testing it and hopefully providing results. In the end the choice is up to you all but don't let the sleek look of this intake fool you all into a purchase at this point. The price will come down eventually and remember there are other options out there.

I think its a great quality product and unlike Sluggo I ordered mine and got it in a week, California to Ohio. I would have like to seen something on the dyno, but I didnt have any high hopes, after all its just an intake. I think there is more to be said for un-measurable results i.e. throttle response, etc with them, or at least thats been my experience in the past. I still love having it and when I get a little time and cooler temps may go back the road again to the dyno and do some other pulls just to try different setups. Tuned truck without AFE intake. Anyway, to potential buyers out there, be smart, make sure whoever you buy from has the product on hand or will in a reasonable time and be happy with whatever you decide to purchase. I still love the noise, it really surprises people hearing those noises from an F150

First off at this point in time nobody has it on hand. AFE is saying back orders will not be filled until September. So be cautious when purchasing from retailer other than AFE directly. The quality and materials are good I will say that. I definitely was not the only person who got the run around from them. If you read this entire thread and others on the topic many people were told next week, then another week and so on. Like I said they should have anticipated the popularity more than they did. Had they just been up front from the start about production times many wouldn't have complained. Now throw in skewed dyno numbers and other factors and leaves very sour taste in my mouth. Just my opinion. For those who have it and love it that is great. I just will not be doing business with them in the future.

Nothing against you sluggo at all, I appreciate all the input you have put into this thread.....The dyno stuff little fishy, I have seen where the scales for the torque and hp can be off causing it too look funny, the other thing is a company is not going to put out a dyno that shows little gains, K&N has been doing it for years claiming big numbers...I think if you expect numbers to match the claims you are going about it the wrong way, those are for ideal conditions and Im not saying there might be some tweaks to make them look a little better...and I know sluggo was more frustrated with the little explanations to which I Cannot speak to. Hopefully more can be said to take care of the unanswered questions. We are all guinea pigs right now being the first to start modding this relatively new engine. Its scary, there will be some unknowns, and we can all look back in 5 years and say man that was a dumb idea when you think about it or hey that worked really well!

Thanks and I agree with you that in several years we will laugh about some of these ideas. I realize dyno numbers are often tweaked by all companies wanting to sell products. In this case when a customer actually tested it and results were not even in the ballpark alarms started going off and AFE had to try to respond. But after looking at the "new" corrected dyno there are still things that don't look right. Not every person will have a great experience every time with every company. You live and learn. People will still buy this product but I just want them to be aware of everything possible. Good luck to you all. I have stated my .02 more than enough and am moving on from this thread.

.

We always use the SAE correction on our dyno tests. Jason
