Now this is subjective, but the sound resonates terribly through the cab, especially from about 2000 rpm to 2500 rpm or so. More of an annoyance than a "man my truck sounds good."

I'm going to give it a week, but more than likely I'll be getting rid of it.

I'll try to get a video of it, but I'm not sure if a video will replicate what it sounds like in person.
I agree the noise that it makes from 2-2.5k rpm at partial throttle is horrible. I've thought many times about taking it out and getting something different.

Does the afe intake and sct tuner give you a noticeable gain and is the afe intake really that loud ?

That I do not know. I am sure there probably is some gain with the aFe tube or why would they sell it?

I do not have one so I can not say for sure.

Because they like taking money from people who assume things

Mine sounds fricken awesome haha, and the butt dyno says more power. Step on the go pedal a 1/4 inch and man does it go, but it did before too, just feels like a lil more now. I have a 6.2 tho, i doubt theres much of a difference in sound from the intake tho from a 6.2 to a 5.0. Looking for a 5 star tune soon, tranny downshifts way too slow, plus I want to see what i get with a 91 performance tune.

I have the aFe CAI Stage 2 installed and love it. There is a definite power gain even without the tune uploaded. At 2000 - 3000 there is a nice growl when normal driving and it screams WOT. Only thing I don't like is having to remove the plenum with the 6.2L badging.

I have a thread in the 2009 and later section with more pictures if interested.

Unhappy

What is the noise at 2500 RPM that the original poster is talking about. Is it the engine noise, or a rattle of some kind. I would very much like to get one of these cold air intakes. However, I am concerned about these posts.

Anyone, have any additional thoughts?

On the 6.2 the "noise" is at 2000 RPM and is pure growl. Nothing odd or funny sounding to me.

I imagine its the same on most V8's. Lets you know what is sucking up the air.

I have it a a custom tune from JLP tuning and its a beast. JLP unleashed the beast.

I went off this video not much but I read the comments and decided to run with it, glad I did
