Default AED did not want to bother with tuning my 5.0

I called Shaun at AED to order an Xcal3 and a tune for my 2013 RCSB 5.0L. He told me that there was not much to be had in performance to make it worth it. He also said they did not market tunes for the 5.0 in the F150.

He said the only real gains were with the Ecoboost. Well, I guess so since you can turn the boost up via the tune. I had an 87 Grand National so I know all about it and then some.

The main reason I wanted a tune was to correct my speedometer after going to 20" wheels and tires. I didn't bother to mention that since he all but told me no. I wasn't going to beg him sell me a tune so I will have to look elsewhere.

Shaun seemed like a nice guy but had no interest in tuning a 5.0.

No one was more suprised than me. I have been buying chips and tuners for many years, all the way back to 87, and never experienced a tuner not wanting to sell you something. He might be too covered up with other things to mess with the 5.0 truck which he does not normally tune. At least he was honest about it which I appreciate.

I don't know man....Me and at least one other guy on here have had Shaun tune our f150's. I had him do mine a couple of years ago, with several updates since then.

He turned down a guy with a Magnuson supercharger on a 5.0 and me. Maybe he is really not wanting to get deep into this market.

I'm sure he is overwhelmed with the mustangs right now....Besides his truck which is an ecoboost, he hasn't had a 5.0 truck in his shop to mess with as far as I know, so I'm sure that's probably some of it. His email tunes are more expensive than others from what I hear, and he is a stand up guy. He likes it done right. He may just be trying to save you money. I really don't know.

They rave about his tunes in the Mustang section of SVTPerformance. He seemed straight up to me.
