These walls have eyes. That comment will eventually work it's way back to the fatherland...
I definitely think some are owed an apology and I hope that is part of the process to make things right. Again, it is Shawn's business to run and ultimately he will decide if he wants to do that. I have a feeling a lot of people are sitting back waiting to see if the changes will stick and if some of those wrongs will be righted.. Maybe after all the criminal charges are brought forward, then there will be time for such activities?

Also, whether one likes him or not we should all respect the fact that Shawn just lost his mother. Family is much more important than a truck tune

I guess I see no problem with reading a source code or what is in the file, especially if you pay for it. I do see a problm with taking someones tune and writing your own changes to it, thats where you fall into the gray area. It is one thing to look at someones IP, but it's another thing to take it, modify it, and make a profit off of it.
If you think it's really that bad that someone reads the iner-workings of these files, go to the top of your internet browser, click page, and view source. You can do this on pretty much every page you visit on the internets, and I can guarentee they have a lot more legal standing, consultation, and representation than Shawn, 5*, MPT, or LMS etc. combined.

I gotcha. Like I said and I had the conversation with JC and Shawn. I don't know all the details, all I know is what has been made public. Those guys know how I am and I've done nothing but try to help. We all need people around us to tell us the TRUTH, not just what we want to hear. I truly hope the best for all sides involved. We all have families to support and we all make mistakes. We learn from them and either allow them to make us better or destroy us. I hope SSI does remain. That is a good thing for the level of competition. He most certainly made the other tuners dig deeper to build better tunes. Every industry needs competition like that.

IMO, two cardinal rules of business have been, and continue to be broken.
1) It takes 10 good jobs to make up for one bad job.
2) Be carful how you treat people, because you never know where your next customer will come from?
I really don't see SSI getting a larger customer base mostly because one person has a physical limit of production? But if that is the business model that is fine too. But this whole bigger and better mindset reminders me of a saying from an old boy in Kansas that I used to work with.
"Don't **** in my pocket and tell me that it is rain!"

It hasn't been proven yet that HPT can read all the Ecoboost tables yet.
Of course some people are going to misuse this "power" given to them. Remmeber, there is always a motive.

Which is true, thinking of Bill Gates back when he first got started haha.
But honestly, what is wrong with me paying $150 for a tune, which is now my tune, opening it up and seeing what he or any tuner is doing to my $50k truck? As long as I am not changing anything or using it for profit..
