Default 93 octane on 87 economy tune ?

I only run 93 in my 2012 ecoboost but I want to run the 87 tune first and gradually work my way up to the 93 performance tune , i know you cant run 87 octane on the 93 tune . But what should i expect a little better performance than if I was running 87 octane or what ?I have the sct 5 star tuner should be here today . I ordered the 87 economy tune just in case gas prices gets out of control and 93 perf/tow and 93 perf only. I am wanting to start with sct 87 canned tune.

You'll be fine with the 87 tune using 93 octane. Might be a small difference in power but not enough to feel. Once you set the tune to the 93 tune you will feel a difference. Even with the SCT canned tune. The 5 star will just be the icing on the cake.

I only have canned tunes for my 5.0 and SF3. I ran some 91 and found that I got just under a 1mpg increase when compared to running 87 with the 87 tune. The power increase wasn't very big but with the same driving style I believe the mpg increase was due to extra power and not having to mash the fun pedal down as much to get the truck to get going.
