Call me old fashioned, but for some reason, I dont think I can get the Ecoboost. Yeah...it sounds good on paper and all that, but something just doesnt seem right to me about it......at least for me.

I just think once the warranty is up on that engine and if something happens, you may be forking over a bunch of money on it. It is also a new engine and with all the Ford videos they talk about running it 150k miles and stuff.....I just think the 6.2 will not work as hard as that little Eco and will last longer.

Also, if any issues pop up on those Eco's, your resale will be shot. I will be honest and say that I put about 5000 miles per year on my truck so this next truck I get should last me 20+ years. My old truck, 2000 Dakota (150k miles) lasted me 11 years and it was my only car the first 5 years of that.....then I got a commuter. But anyway, I think I would prefer to go big...have the sound of he V8 and to never 2nd guess wishing I had the 6.2. Also, I think the Eco runs on Premium fuel....that is 10% more in gas $$$. Maybe I will get 1-2mpg more on that Eco, but in the end, for me, that little money saved on 5000miles per year is not that big of a deal.

As long as the 6.2 gets close to what my thirsty Dakota gets which is about a 14 avg mpg, then I am sold.

hey do you guys run on 87 or 91 octane on your 6.2's??? I read you can do either....just wondering what you guys are doing.

93 octane, all city driving, lots of in and out of throttle, pullling into traffic etc, 0-50ish runs constantly. Mpg? 6.2, I quit calculating after the 2nd tank. Hope its gotten better.

the EB runs on reg 87 and the 6.2 is rated at 16 hwy and the EB is rated at 21, but I see you thinking I just came from a 6.4 turbo diesel so I understand wanting to see how that turbo really holds up.

I run 85. I'm at altitude, so 85 is pretty much equal to 87 at sea level.

Just be aware with the 6.2 there is a considerable difference in tow capacity between the 2x and 4x versions. 2x tows 7500 pounds. The 4x tows up to 11100.

I think that has to do with the Limited Edition/harley Davidson trucks...they have a different suspension. I am getting a 4x4 lariat, but i also think a 4x2 Lariat has high tow ratings. I will double check though.

Sorry, I edited the title. Every time I saw it I thought I was gonna read about someone who was actually getting 6.2 mpg. LOL.

That's an incorrect assumption, 4wd is lower than 2wd (always is, I know it doesn't make sense but even on an F350 dually the 2wd has more capacity than the 4wd). As shown below the 4wd has a capacity of 11,100 and the 2wd has 11,300 (with max tow package), without max tow package 2wd is the 7500 you stated and 4wd is 7200. You were comparing numbers for 2wd without max tow and 4 wd with max tow). Easy mistake, but rule of thumb is 2wd will always tow more than 4wd with the same set up.
The following chart is a really good reference for the towing capabilities.

I got 18.4 mpg while driving an average of 70 mph for 3 hrs. I have about 700 miles on my lariat limited. Overall, my average is 14.3 mpg. This includes mostly highway driving, but I admit I'm a bit heavy on the throttle because this motor's just a blast. Also, probably 250 miles in AWD in really cold weather. Given the power, I'm really impressed, especially compared to my last 5.4 L.
