Default 6.2 Oil life monitor.

The manual for this truck claims that there is no oil monitor on the 6.2. Yet I got this display today.

Anyone know the real deal?

Pics not working. I dont know why the manual says that cause I have one and it works. Dealer even reset it when I had my first oil change.

I see two possibilities:

1. perhaps your pcm was flashed wrong at the factory and it thinks you have something you don't?

2. Perhaps instead of an intelligent oil life monitor yours is simply based on actual mileage?

I'm assuming at 19k you have changed the oil at least once already? Maybe they forgot to reset it when you were there?

We did not reset it, as the manual claims there is not one. It is due for a change however, in both milage and time. Not the first error in the manual.

I called Ford Canada today, and they are adamant that the vehicle does not have an "Intelligent Oil Life Monitor" installed, and I must have a technical issue. Please see the dealer ASAP.

I thought the monitor was the one that gives the percentage of life starting at 100%. It seems like every car on the road these days have a set interval to tell you change oil soon. But not the percentage one. Could be wrong
