Default 6.2 Mileage

Im just wondering what other 6.2 owners are getting mileage wise. Personally Im very pleased with what Im getting with mine. So far Ive kept the long term average in the low 15's and have gotten as much as low 17's when taking it easy. Got as high as 19 on a 100+ mile trip to our lake house and back which was running 55/65. Towing a 4K lb bass boat its usually in the 13/14 range. Granted if you get heavy footed you can see 13 to 14 when not towing. Not sure why they were rated so low as I have never seen 12's even when towing.

This tread is not trying to compete with the EB or 5.0 as most threads seem to turn into a pissing match. I could care less that they get more mpg. Actually I think its awesome that FORD has the engine line up that it has. They all seem to be great motors which ever engine you choose. Im just glad to see Ford back on top for a change.

Default 6.2 milage

I get about get about 16.2 mpg at 72 mph on a 300 mile trip. If I keep it at 75 mph it drops to around 15.8. This is with the a/c running in FL. On the country style roads I get low to mid 17's under 65, depending on traffic with about 650 lbs in the bed. I just put a soft cover on the bed so it will be interesting to see if that helps at all. These are hand calculated, even though the the trucks gauges are really very accurate. Just turned 4300 miles.

I average mid 15's on my daily commute....part city/part highway, 110 miles round trip. When we take it for weekend trips, I usually get low-mid 17's with the cruise set at 73/74 mph.

I think it's interesting that the 6.2 is rated better mpg's than the 5.4 S/C from a few years ago and makes basically the same power.

Lol
I have a 5.0 and I couldn't agree with you more. Frankly, they are ALL great engines and I'm getting real tired of the "pissin matches" myself.

Those are some pretty good numbers for interstate mileage. I'm glad to see the 6.2L doing so well on MPG with the kind of numbers it posts on HP and TQ.

I just bought a 2011 F 150 6.2 two weeks ago. I towed an Airstream TT that weighted 7200 lbs about 250 mile. The computer said average of 11.7. With the 36 gal fuel tank, have not filled up to check it. I will fill it up next week to see what I am really getting. I'll be taking it out for 2000 mile trip in a couple of weeks and will see what I really get.
I did not break it in. Hooked it up and towed with 43 miles. Great truck. Love they way it drove and pulled.
Cheers,
Noggin

You have big tires. Imagine running those with the 6.2
