5 Star tuner vs Mpt tuner

After taking a drive out to the Texas hill country today with the MPT performance-street tune, I have decided to reload the 5* 93 and just keep it there. For those that have never driven in the Texas hill country, it is constant roller coaster ride roads going up and down +/- up to 5 degrees.
The shifting on the MPT never got smoother even in the street shift version, and it shifted at times when I didn't want it to while not down shifting when I expected it to. It was constantly shifting even when I put it in tow/haul mode to the point it got annoying. I have taken the 5* down the very same hill country roads and it did not shift as much and shifted even less in tow/haul mode. The 5* tune also kept the truck out of 6th gear before 50mph in tow/haul mode which helped out a lot to keep it from shifting all the time. The truck was shifting too soon with the MPT in normal driving putting me in 6th gear before I even hit 50 mph and stayed in 6th all the way down to 40mph when letting of the gas. I don't like this but this is just my preference.
The other aspect I didn't like was the DBW and TC lock up or lack there of versus the 5*. You have to press the pedal down a little more to get the power, but this is because I am used to the DBW throttle of the 5*. I am sure this will not be an issue for going from stock to the MPT. I want to point out that this has nothing to do with the power of the MPT, it is just that MPT tuned the DBW system differently than the 5* which is to my preference, others may have different preferences.
I am not saying the MPT does not have power because it does. I finally was able to do a WOT from a dead stop getting onto the highway on a clover leaf interchange. This tune does have more power than the 5* perf/tow although it was not that much as a difference I was expecting. Both the MPT 93 and the 5* 93 will break my aggressive 33' Durtracs at a dead stop and going into 2nd gear.
The MPT is the quicker of the two tunes, but not by much or as much as I was expecting. The 5* is the better all around performance, towing, and everyday driver for my preferences. If you want a track tune then I would say MPT, but I definitely prefer the 5* for everyday use. Maybe the race shifting one might be a different animal, but I only have the street shifting version. If I ever get the race version then this might change from what the others have stated about it. Again, these are just from my preferences and expectations, others may have different preferences.

I too had a couple of small issues with the transmission tune that MPT had given me. I'm sure it's the same one that everyone else gets with the Street setup as well. I went back and forth via email with Mike and gave him VERY specific pieces of info and data using my datalogger via Torque Pro as well as things I noticed switching back of forth to the canned SCT tunes and even going back to stock.
Mike was able to reconfigure the transmission tune in such a way that is much better for MY style of driving and usage of the truck. He answered any email within hours and was very responsive and reactive to my feedback and got me all setup exactly how I wanted it. Just another reason that MPT Mike has and will keep my business. Service and help after the sale and willing to work with me with these tunes is a HUGE thing for me and I am extremely happy with the tunes now.

please don't base it off charts. I did, and ended up with my favorite tunes (MPT) and they don't even have charts. I have Innovative, 5*, also but MPT is the one I always run. The Unleashed one looks interesting, but I can't make myself spend 2-3x's as much.
