Why anyone would buy the X3 is beyond me SF3 comes free with tunes then you can mix and match whom ever tunes you like

Thank you AL kohalic for clearing that up

And thank you mr 13 posts for calling me a troll. LOL!

You can still mix and match custom tunes from different tuners with the X3 just like you can on the SF3, just without the the "free" canned SCT tunes. It does the same thing, just without those "free" tunes. They are actually not free since a bare X3 without custom tunes loaded is about $200 which is about $100 less than the SF3 with the pre-loaded canned tunes and no custom tunes.

I bought an SF3 from Mike and have not even used any of the SCT tunes since that first week waiting for my custom tunes to come out. I don't ever for see me even wanting to use the SCT tunes either since the 5* gives you the same power performance but with way better shifting.
That's what I've understood from you and several others here. I do think the 5* site could be a little more specific on their product descriptions but I am getting exactly what I ordered, knowing the canned tunes won't be included @ the $389.
Thanks again,
Ed

Maybe I will ask for a $40 refund if the $389 comes with the canned tunes, cause I bought the $429 so I could have them. If I would have known they came with the $389 I would have got that one!

So did I. With the same text on the invoice.

Very interesting because the SF3 (3015) and the X3 (3000) are two different devices. As Al stated, the X3 does not contain the standard SCT tunes. I also only see the X3 on 5Star's site.

We shall see when it arrives. Either way I can wait to get it!

I sent a note to 5*, but think I'll ask here, too. In light of the spark plug thread is a specific gap suggested to work best with the new tunes?

Some other tuners recommended .030 with boost over 20 psi. My 5 star tune will make right at 20 psi so I gapped mine at 0.030. Truck runs much better. I have seen some folks going to .032 or 0.34 and also saying they are seeing improvements. I'm curious to hear what Mike says about this.
