I'm still leaning towards MPT but the warranty deal has me thinking.
Definitely a nice thing to have for peace of mind but in all honesty the truck sounds and performs better with it being tuned opposed to it being stock. It actually knocks less as well. As long as you get revisions done to your tunes i wouldn't be too worried about it. Again, its all up to you.
I'm with you on the ecoboost though, i would be more hesitant on a tune if i were running a Eco and it would definitely be on the lighter side of things as i DD my truck as well.
Just got my final revision for the Economy tune from MPT this morning (took 4 total, my shift firmness preference not bc of a bad tune). My review remains the same. Mileage on extended road trips is great but starting to dislike the "sluggish" feel of the tune for DDing. Will be DDing the Performance tune from now on and use the Economy tune exclusively for long road trips. In previous experience, the mileage numbers are within .2-.3mpg/tank

So you're happy with the performance tune? What differences from stock do you notice?

Mine shifts like a granny and is always out of the power unless I floor it or drive around in manual mode which gets old. I use tow/haul most of the time now, which helps, but hurts gas mileage buy about 1.5 MPGs.

The performance tune is a great all around tune. The throttle tip in takes a few starts to get use to but once you do its nice. No hunting for gears, cruise at 70 and you need to pass, mash it and it'll downshift and pull hard. Makes for a very enjoyable drive to know you have the power when you need it and not lugging in the stock "passing gear", i.e. 5th or 6th.

I've run both the economy tune and performance tune for several thousand miles. I now run just the performance tune. Not enough of a difference in mpg to make it worth running economy IMHO.

Just throwing my two cents in the mix. I'm having MPT remote tune my truck currently. Before the ProCharger went on I had 5Star and anytime I talked to anyone there the customer service was way above what I expected. The tune was awesome, numbers posted in my sig. Now, saying all that, MPT has definitely raised the bar on what to expect from a tuner. They have went out of their way several times to help me with my tune, always been positive even when I ask stupid questions or say something that makes no sense, and the tune on my truck right now is amazing. The drivability is perfect. The power when my blower spools ups kicks you in the chest. I have been sending them datalogs from each revision they send me and by looking at them and talking with their tuner they without a doubt know what they are doing with these trucks and engines. I would highly recommend MPT.

So I ordered the X4 from MPT. Should get it next week. Their website says to submit the custom tune form when I have my X4 in hand. Before I get my custom tunes in the email in 3-5 days, what shall I expect from the canned SCT tunes? Can you adjust parameters in the can tunes like shift firmness etc?

Yes you can. I was pleasantly surprisdd by the canned tunes. Only thing I noticed is the downshift strategy was not like stock so it would catch 2nd coming to a stop. Fans stay on too but if you email them theyll send you a "custom" tune turning it off.

Tried the PHP 93 performance tune and even after the revise they couldn't get the torque converter to engage and disengage correctly. So got tired of waiting on PHP for another revise and bought the Mpt 93 performance, with the first couple of revises the converter would kick out just before the 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6 up shift and they didn't give up till it was acting like it was suppose to. MPT has a nice tune and great customer service. Glad I went with there tune.

grouseridge,

How much different is the SCT canned 93 performance tune vs. the MPT 93 performance tune?

I should get the tuner today and then I will submit the custom tune form for a 93, 87 performance and the 87 economy tune.
