I like the looks of that UPR can. I just installed a Moroso can on my Vortech 97 Mustang Gt and can't wait to see how it works.

Did everything come as needed in the UPR kit? I had to modify a line on the Moroso, otherwsie very simple instructions.

Thanks

It comes with everything you need. but it comes with transmission cooler tubing. Which I have heard doesnt hold up well over time to oil. I had some heavy duty fire/oil resistance 5/8" tubing laying around that I used instead of the stuff that came with the kit.

I just bought, wait wait, I just financed a new F150 with the 5.0. The EcoBoost was hard to pass up, but just something about that V8 that makes me grin.

Anyway, when you do any mods to your engine, are you risking killing your powertrain warranty or any other basic warranty coverage? I know something as simple as an oil catch can shouldn't effect much except for the positive clearly, but if by chance something with those lines went wrong and caused problems would a Ford tech snicker and say thanks? Just curious before I add this, I really like it.. Unless of course you need that oil slipping in and burning off for an odd reason.

Something as small as a catch can should not void any warranty. It's easy enough to pull off if you need to take it in for service. So I'm not that worried.

Most engines have PCV type systems regardless of the fuel system.
Just curious, wouldn't adding a fuel additive every now and then take care of that problem?

Whether or not fuel additives are "snake oil" or actually worthwhile is a bit moot in our application. If you follow the PCV valve and the semi-circular plastic tube that leads to just aft of the throttle body, you'll note that whatever gasses/oil are sucked in via the PCV system enter the intake well before the injectors.

An additive (which would mix with the fuel and be squirted in via the injectors) will do nothing to keep the intake clean. An occasional shot of Seafoam would, if you applied it on the intake side of the PCV line, but I'd rather not resort to that kind of smoky mess in a vehicle with computers and O2 sensors and whatnot.

Do you have any pictures of the air/oil separator installed?

Here is the Jeg's version:

I learned that 5/8" inside diameter emissions-rated hose isn't exactly easy to find.
